I agree - unless you're worried about her weight, I'd let her (and you!) sleep. My LO was 10 days old when I stopped waking her up.0

Oh, and on sleeping bags - don't stock up on bigger sizes just because they're cute and on offer! I did just that, and my LO turned out to hate them - she'd scream and kick her legs until we removed it. And tbh I wasn't keen on them either - much harder to check if her nappy needed changing. I now have a nice little collection of unused sleeping bags0

Pop up a list or pm of what you have - I'd rather you got some money back than paid a company. If you want of courseMy Debt Free Diary

As long as they're back to birth weight, they can be left to sleepThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Thanks for the reassurance
have been told various different things by the midwives/HV and my mum but if she repeats the magic tonight I'll make the most of it! I must say I've been feeling a lot less engorged today so I think she's done us both a favour.

Evening ladies
How are we all today?
We've had quite a good day today, I think, after an horrendous night but hey ho... up and down! Went to baby group this afternoon and then a little drive out to collect the nieces Christmas presents that I had delivered to store.
I booked my flight home for next year last night and rang up this morning to reserve a bassinet for the long haul components. So if ANYONE has advice/suggestions on making things easier on long haul flights with a very energetic 9 month old I'm listening (she is a very busy 6 month old; I doubt that will lessen!).
lobey, I get told something different each time a see a HV when I take LO to get weighed (which I do for my own interest really) so now I smile and nod and then carry on regardless
Someone told me that no one has ever been the mother of MY baby, and I know my baby better than anyone else... ergo I know best for my baby.
Re sleeping bags, I have a selection of togs and also bought one of these in a smaller size that I pop on over the sleeping bag if I need to. I've also found putting a pair of socks on LO's feet helps to keep her hands warmer, so at the moment she is usually in a vest (either long or short sleeved) with socks on her feet and a babygrow over inside her sleeping bag.
MrsH hope that you get things sorted out and too hope that your Grandad gets the support that he needs at the moment and is soon feeling better.
My folks are abroad so we do regular skype chats too so that they can see LO. Lol whilst I was making dinner on Sunday I had them singing to her for a bit whilst I was busy in the kitchenIt distracted her long enough not to realise I had left the room.
I think I'm lucky with my inlaws - they're about a half hour away and I try to take A to visit at least every two to three weeks and send mil regular photos by email, as I do for my folks. When she's a little older I know mil would try to make herself available if needed in an emergency so its important for LO to be comfortable with them. I've never been shopping with MIL either and wouldn't even consider it - the thought makes me :eek:
Hope that everyone else is well and we all have a good night tonight, take care ladies and hugs to those who need them.
We're all doing an amazing job! :T:T0 -
We have a tooth!:j (or the beginnings of one anyway!)
Interesting reading about the sleeping bags - we use 2.5 tog and just a long sleeve bodysuit - and like you lazywife - our LO used to suck on the handbits if we covered her hands leaving soggy cold hands! The temp is between 14-16 degrees at night in the room.
When do you start brushing teeth? Theres only a tiny sharp bit at the moment so I don't want to start brushing it as I reckon it will start hurting if I attempt to brush it? Do I wait until the whole tooth is through? How long does it take for the whole tooth to appear?
I love your positive post endings Saffagal - you always give me a little glow after reading them!:)
*now about to reward myself for the amazing job with a spoon and a jar of nutella*:D

Lol Nutella
I rewarded myself with a sainsburys finest white choc and raspberry cookie. All to myself aswell as the monkey is in bed, a rare treat! (unless I purposely wait til naptime to have it. Which I would never, ever do
)
Shouldn't be on here - got a ton of work to do, we're going away for the weekend so need to get travel cot etc down from the loft and we've got another viewing just booked for tomorrow and the place is a bombsite. Hmm. The reward cookie was possibly a bit premature...Newborn thread member
