Finally - did anyone see the peaches geldolf and katie hopkins debate on this morning? I youtubed it just now....

    Xxx

Me! I can't stand the woman but she's just one of those people you love to hate so continue to watch and listen to her ridiculous opinions...

I admit I did laugh at the 'you can practically smell the breast milk in Costa Coffee' comment. However I don't restricted myself to Costa, I'll get my boob out (discreetly) wherever, whenever DD needs feeding. Attitudes towards BF in public in this country really need to change!

Talking of getting the b00bs out... How is this done discreetly?! I am always ending up being covered in milk and changing tops at home, just can't imagine doing it out!

It gets easier! I went for the vest under looseish top approach - so you lift the loose top up and pull the top of the vest down, thus revealing much less tummy than just lifting a top up. I never got on with the apron things, he'd wriggle and everything would be on show anyway. Just watch out for the breast pads. I once finished a feed, got all sorted and then spotted a pad had popped out and was sat there on the table next to my cup of tea. Classy.

I tend to get her latched on under a blanket and then once that's out of the way as long as you wear the right kind of top nobody knows any different, cant help with the milk spray though I only get that when my boobs are engorged, sounds like you have a rather healthy supply!!

TBF I never had the confidence to do it with DS1 its only with DS2 and DD I thought sod it, if anyone's got a problem with me breastfeeding in public that's their problem!!

Thanks for the tips ladies. Just had our first trip into London, success until I tried feeding her on the train and she wouldn't latch and started screaming and hitting me! I gave up and pretty much ran home! I have serious oversupply issues so she and I get flooded at every feed. Apparently this will correct itself by the magical 6 weeks but no idea how!

lobey have a look on kellymom for tips on reducing oversupply.

Well done for your first London trip too!
  • Had my first night out this week, so Monday and Tuesday OH has had sole care of baby for the evening. OH is now in bed asleep, knackered! He said he realises now that looking after baby is not just me sat on my a*se all day.
Baby's been under the weather as well, took him to the GP yesterday and ended up being sent to the local hospital to have a paediatrician look at him. Fortunately they couldn't find anything serious wrong, looks like he's just caught my cold, and he has some nose drops which he really doesn't like me doing! He's definitely seeming better today though, which is a relief.

Troublesome oversupply here too. I hang a muslin out of my bra once I've unhooked it ... classy!. It hangs underneath LO so when it sprays or he dribbles it out a bit, it just goes on the cloth.x

I'm glad it's not just me! I'm on my third bra/top combo of the day :S

All our muslins are soaked too! Poor DH often tried to grab one to do winding and gets damp resting her on him lol. I've tried feeding from one side for three feedings and the cold compresses but no improvement as yet. I'm planning on starting to express a bit once she gets to six weeks so DH can do the bedtime bottle and give me a bit of a break but I don't want to overstimulate my supply now.
