That does sound lovely
I'm really looking forward to the day when my LO has the patience to listen to a whole story from beginning to end! She loves her books and will happily sit and flick through them for quite a while, and also loves sitting on my/OH's lap looking at books, but she rarely spends more than 30 seconds on each
G is the same at the moment, can get through a whole (short) story when he's occupied with his supper at bedtime but at the moment he either wants to sit and look at a pic of Curious George riding in a helicopter or read an animal noises one - and laugh at his poor mummy doing repeated (bad) impressions of various animalsNewborn thread member

Hi all- dida, laughed so much at your free nappy arriving, how cute were they tho? Mine was blue with an elephant on the bum.
Delain, how funny about the adult catalogue!
Saf, hope everything goes well with the job,
claree, big hugs, my dh would ask whats wrong with lo during a screaming fit and when I said I don't know, he replies, well you should-you are here with him all day! Im not a flaming doctor.
Gilly thanks for tip re blw book, although its 12quid on mothercare site but 2 on elc site with free collection instore :money:
afm, lo had his ultrasound today on his hips and radiographer didnt see any problemsMum of 2 :j0 -

Bad impressions of animals are a favourite here too!The other day, OH and I were debating what a giraffe sounds like :rotfl:
My LO also loves books with textured/fluffy bits, especially those containing animal pictures with soft tummies/ears. She takes her slippers and socks off and touches them with her little toes too!0 -
Thanks for all the support ladies, feeling a lot better now
Going to Babyclub in the morning & getting my nails done in the afternoon so tomorrow is shaping up okay!My Debt Free Diary

Evening all, I haven't been here for ages. Hope you are all doing well.
SInce going back to work, it has been non-stop chaos here. I can't believe I'm buying things for my little one that I heard you all talking about when she was born: Little Life backpacks, trikes, lettersaurus's....where did my tiny baby go? Only a few weeks now until she is 1. Life is full of fun but also just crazy - how fast can these small people move with such short legs???
With regards to books, I think my little one had a better attention span at 6-7months,she would sit and stroke all the fuzzy bits and turn each page nicely. Now books get flung about, trodden on and sometimes attempted chewing takes place. I think there are so many more exciting things to do like crawl, try to walk and play with so many other things, why sit still for a minute
Nutella - that is so cute about touching the fuzzy bits with her toes!
Hope you are feeling better soon Claree___Xxx
How are bamama , savage and marta - are you coping with the fact you have almost got one year olds?0 -
Awww....Saffagal - I hope your meeting goes well. Do you have any friends to leave LO with? I would offer to look after any of my friends LO's (or yours if you lived in my area!) if I knew they were having to go to a meeting about their job x
Hey mini - fab news on the ultrasound!(and yes, although it was strange a nappy arriving in the post....it was one of their cute ones which I actually use as they are very good and reasonably priced in comparison to Active Fit ones which we only buy when on offer!).
This thread is so reassuring - my LO had been screaming her face off most of the afternoon when we got home - I had to sing the theme to Flintstones and the Adams Family (for some reason its the only tunes that I can sing that shut her up LOL!) and make her lightshade move (the "magical butterflies") by blowing on it so much that it made me dizzy - just so I could get her to have her bottle!:o
On a cruel parent note - I have bought this: http://www.clothingattesco.com/f+f-santa-all-in-one/invt/km324012 and a personalised santa hat with her name on from Ebay for LO to wear! Haha! I always said that I wouldn't do it.....but alongside the cute (embarrassing?!) pics, I also want to take a pic for the December page of a personalised calendar we are going to make for grandparents, so figured LO dressed as Santa would be ideal! :rotfl:0 -

You do realise there's no such thing as 'checking out' baby clothes?Unless you've got bags of willpower and leave your wallet at home, you *will* end up buying something, as baby clothes are just too cute! Good luck though - we'll be checking up on you this evening!
:rotfl:
Morning all - hope everyone is well x0 -

I second this. Have to go to asda today to pick up a pre-ordered dress. I'm not even kidding myself that the dress is the only think I'll come out with.
A packet of salt & pepper crisps are also calling on me. Has anyone tried these? I didn't think I'd like them but now I'm hooked!
Is it ridiculous that I want to get personalised stockings for all 3 of us rather than just Eilis? My Debt Free Diary
