Love those sleepsuits benictomyself! I'm planning a trip to primark for a crimbo jumper too, I normally avoid it as I can't face the jumblesaleness of it...

Another rubbish night for us :(. And he appears to be on a food strike again - ate hardly a bit yesterday, and so far today 2 spoons of cereal for brekkie, won't touch his toast and ate one grape. Can normally count on grapes to go down. He's ok in himself, just not eating.

Rubbish night here too :( and some bad news about my job yesterday so all in all feeling a bit rubbish. Will be spending some time crunching numbers later on if A will let me.
OH would kill me if I bought one of those jumpers though he chose a Miss Santa outfit for A to wear to his folks at Christmas because his family expect it

    Morning all!

Was out all day yesterday trying to find a dress for eilis' christening. I have one, I'm just not sure that I like it! :(

Went to the hospital for my appointment with my maternity consultant and after waiting an hour they told me they'd lost my notes so can't actually tell me anything so I'll have to come back another time

As for the tv, I feel awful when OH puts Eilis down in front of it but it gives us peace to have dinner - she's not fussed with what's on so I'm sure she's just following the colours and shapes but I do feel bad!

You probably feel awful about the tv now, roll on 8 months when you're trying to get anything done without an over excited pre toddler climbing all over you and it's a god send for 5 minutes :o

Morning everyone! We got our Christmas jumpers from Primark, I thought they were a bargain as they won't be worn for very long at all!

Sunshine, is the blue and cream jumper from Next? I think we have that as a Christmas gift :o I too am getting my hair done on Saturday. I have a big night out for a friends 25th so takes the stress out of getting ready, only have slap to contend with then :D still don't have anything to wear though

Well we've read 7 books already this morning and we've only been up an hour. gonna be a long day, planning on nipping to the library and then home to make pizza dough for dinner :o have a good day everyone x

  • sorry to hear about your job saffagal. As for not buying jumpers - I'm planning on dressing baby festively for the whole month of December!

    I've been Money Tipped!

Hello all! Sorry it's been ages since I've posted. Just not really had much going on, but have been lurking. Loving the christmas jumpers, T's got the Boots onesie for his christmas. Very tempted by the Boden jumpers, just can't justify the price even with 15% off I've got at the mo.
Sunshine, I love the idea of a family photo shoot, but DH just not fussed. We don't have any wedding pics up, so doesn't surprise me he doesn't want the bother of a family photo. I would pick out a colour of what Aiden will be wearing and both wear something to match (eg the cream/baby blue jumper OH in cream jumper with a baby blue shirt collar visible and you in a baby blue outfit?). Or just all go with toning colours?
I have to confess I'm a bit of a telly addict. Tend to have it on in the background to keep me company, DH and I have it on most of the evening even though we're doing other things, so I think it's inevitable that T will be watching TV soon (at the mo, he's just not fussed by it). I'm trying to get him into Ra Ra the lion, on about 9ish in the morning and it's quite cool!
BLW going well, sometimes has a bit and sometimes not, not keen on the change in nappies.... oh how I miss that sweet smelling bf poo!
    Happy days all.x

I mentioned BLW to OH last night and he was completely unwilling to listen. I'm a bit surprised really as I didn't think he'd have a strong opinion on it but he seems really set on purees and mashed up food while I'd like to explore BLW a bit more. Any suggestions of how to broach the subject again? Obviously we've got a while before it's necessary but I'm a bit peeved that he wouldn't even entertain to idea while knowing nothing about it.

Something neutral, maybe jeans and a plain tshirt or jumper in a neutral colour? I think these shoots look nice when parents and baby are both wearing say all jeans and different tops and bare feet :o

If he's prepared to make all the purees and do all the feeding then I'd let him crack on, if he's not I'd say you'd like to give it a try if it's going to be you doing a lot of it.

Maybe buy the Gill Rapley book, I know it was £2 on Mothercare recently and let him have a read, maybe if he gets the reasoning behind it, he may change his mind? :o I think it's hard for the Dads sometimes as they're not there all day with LO. BLW requires a lot of trust. Trusting your baby that he/she knows what they need, so on the days where they eat nothing and throw it all on the floor you can be happy with the fact that milk will fill them and satisfy them. Trusting that there gag reflex is good and that when you hear them gagging it isn't the same as choking, and I Know a lot of men have that instinct of grabbing them out of the high chair and whacking them on the back as soon as they're struggling, when if you just wait 5 seconds, they'l usually get it out themselves.

There are a few really good baby led weaning groups on Facebook, I can add you to them if you'd like x

That's exactly it, Gilly - it'll be me doing all the work as per usual!

Last night Eilis fell asleep on me so I put her down and told him I was going to lie down too 'cause I didn't feel well. She woke up shortly after and I brought her in and asked him to take her so that I could lie down and he was in some mood, like I was asking him to do me a favour! I know he works all day and sees evenings as a break but when do I get a break?!
