    :hello:

Hi to all the newbies. I need to read back so I'm filled in on you all.

Lobey, my LO feeds very quickly and he's growing, lots. You'll get used to more of the schedule as your LO grows, for the moment, just use it as an excuse to sit still, have a rest and not have to do anything.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Lansinoh TTC40, and maybe nipple shields for 24h or so to allow the nipple to heal. Breast milk rubbed in is also supposed to be good. Lots of air too if you can xx

    Any advice re bleeding nipple?

I'm on day 5 of bf. I have moved LO to the other breast, should I pump the bleeding one to rest it from her sucking?

    What else can I do?

Not fully bleeding, but a few very sore days, and I have to say I blundered on. Used plenty of lansinoh cream, started on the not sore side 1st though as the suck is strongest on the 1st.

Thanks for all the responses re baby girl feeding quickly. I think sometimes she sort of drowns in the milk as it comes out so fast but I was more worried about her not getting the hind milk which will make her chunk out. Have just given her her second bath and her thighs are definitely chunking out so I'm sure my worry was all for nothing! Will still wake her for her 3am feed but if she only wants 10 mins then so be it :)

TTC I used lansinoh for the first week and it helped to toughen up the nips. I don't need it any more now so they must have toughened up!

Thanks. I've been putting lansinoh on - will continue to lather on.

It has been the preferred boob so she has gone there more - will go the other way.
  • happy birthday Amelia and Mollie!

Hope you and the girls have had a fab day cake x

Wow, lots of newbies and posts - welcome and congratulations all! Am all on my lonesome tonight with my oh out and little miss tucked up in bed so I will attempt to read back and catch up.

TTC40 re: bleeding nipples, I lathered lansinoh on, used breast milk after a feed to soothe and went topless as much as possible - I just gritted my teeth whilst it healed though as i didn't want to mess up my supply x
  • Thank you all for the birthday wishes, the girls have had a lovely day with lots of cuddles and presents galore!

The party went well, the only thing that went wrong were the girls birthday cakes :o. I was buttercreaming roses around them and the buttercream just slid off. So decided to forget about them and just gave them a cupcake each with a candle in!

Will try and add a pic tomorrow

Welcome to all the new people

TTC I recognise you from the ttc thread. Glad to see you over here. Re the bleeding nipples, Lansinoh and breastmilk worked here too. I remember pumping pink milk for a few days til they started getting better :rotfl:

    Hi hun

Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment is great, has helped us when Charlie had severe nappy rash. Was recommended to me and works wonders. Once its cleared up, use Metanium Barrier Cream, we use this everyday now x

We use both of these too! The barrier cream is very errr...white...but works superbly! The nappy rash cream is a b*gger to wash off your hands but I guess that's a good thing on their bum! We use the barrier cream everyday and have had no problems since!
  • Hi ladies :)

Sorry I havent been around. Welcome to the newbies :j congrats on your babies.
Happy birthday to Mollie and Amelia :D glad they have had a good day.

Missed a ton of posts but:

We use metanium nappy rash cream too its fab. Nightmare to wash off black work trousers too!!

Sleepsuits, my faves are sainsburys, mothercare and next. But different strokes for different folks I guess. I still like to put him in them :o we have afew in 18-24.

Sorry for those struggling with reflux. Gaviscon solved it for my LO with no side effects but I am no GP and so go back to them if LO is suffering.

Went to sainsburys when OH was doing bedtime....only needed kidney beans and spent £23! Damn 25% off.....

Seconded - doctor just prescribed this as Rebecca has a thrush nappy rash - when I showed him I had been using sudocream he actually chucked the tub in the bit  but the metanium is fantastic - only bad point is that I think it stains clothes so make sure there is a wipe or cloth to wipe your finger when changing
