    Morning ladies,

Can you recommend any cream for red raw bumness? Sudacrem just doesn't seem to be helping. Lo is pooing like mad with these teeth and his bum is so sore.

    Hi hun

Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment is great, has helped us when Charlie had severe nappy rash. Was recommended to me and works wonders. Once its cleared up, use Metanium Barrier Cream, we use this everyday now x

When babies are a bit older, I can highly recommend this toy. Charlie has had hours and hours of fun with it!!!

Argos sell it for £45, so a good deal here x

    Hi all,

Am also new to this board, I have been lurking and meaning to post but every time I start to write anything DS wakes up. He is 10
Weeks old today, where has the time gone to! We are doing well we had some ( ok alot of feeding issues at the start but he is now exclusively breastfeed and gaining well, yay!

Feeling incredibly overwhelmed with motherhood at the moment, hubby went back to work after 7 days and I've been muddling through as LO's sleeping patterns have changed from constant during the day to barely sleeping and a lot more screaming! She also doesn't wake to feed in the night so I have to wake her up for a feed after 5 hours, not complaining but not sure it's normal?! Any tips on how to get through this first bit much appreciated! X

Having been there with waking for the night feeds, the rule appears to be that once they are back to their birth weight and gaining well you don't need to wake them up. We had aome issues with low weight gain, and what I found helpful is if you can manage to only half wake them up. I stopped changing before every feed, I only changed ds if his nappy was dirty and it made the feeds much quicker.
If you google dream feed you will get loads of tips. Yes you stil need to get up and do the feed but it cuts out having to settle lo back to sleep after so you get more rest.

TTC40, nursing in public is a bit of a pain, at ten weeks I am still getting used to it, although positioning may be an issue now, as Lucy gets bigger you will have more options. I also got a scarf rather than a front cover and that works well

Thanks guys, I've been reading back a few pages and it's good to know others are feeling the same way. I'm BFing exclusively and it's hard knowing that with her being so little and unpredictable I can't really guarantee an hour to myself without the screaming beginning. I also worry she's not feeding for long enough, sometimes only 10 mins at a time and the midwives said she should be getting a 40 minute feed. I just like to worry about everything!

After a few nights of amazing sleep I'm starting to feel alive again and just adore her sweet little expressions and funny faces :)

If you are worried she is not getting enough, count her wet & dirty nappies.
The quality of the feed is more important than the time spend so you need to make sure she is swallowing, i also found putting ds back in the breast and doing breast compressions to getvthe milk flowing also helped.

I have had one pre-planned hour to myself in the last 10 weeks, a d inline because I expressed his feed and handed him and the bottle to DH. I have gotten much better at taking time out when he naps and being ready to go out before I feed him so I can leave straight away.

  • HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY AMELIA & MOLLIE!!

Cake - enjoy your day with the girls.

Nutella - please stop telling us stuff to buy, my lo will only be 9 months and I've bought all his presents! Oh says "DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE" so please stop tempting me! Hahaha

Ihatdida - Stop encouraging! Your not helping me! Hahaha

Lo is sooo moody today, not sure whether it's teeth or red bum! He's asleep for the second time this morning, holding my arm on the sofa so I'm stuck!

Welcome to the new ladies, congrats on your lo's. I'm only nearly 8 months in but I have to say, reading your posts, I don't miss them first worrying days. It's funny how most of the things you are saying, we have all said at the beginning, so trust us when we say it gets easier. I remember coming on here so chuffed with myself because it found a routine, I thought we didn't have one for a long time but then I realised "oh, lo slept at this time yesterday and the day before and the day before...." It all just slipped in to place.

Mozzy and mv thanks for the suggestions on creams. Sudacrem is just not cutting it. Hilarious how my lo has been doing "secret poos" normally he makes such a song and dance you know for sure what he's done but last few days I've only realised because of a smell!

Have a great day ladies, hello to everyone :)

There's no right amount of feeding time, every woman/baby is different.

With my first he would only feed for an average of 10 mins at a time so I was worried he wasn't getting enough. Then I started expressing and after pumping about 4oz in under 10 mins realised why!!

As long as there are plenty wet nappies and baby is gaining weight they are fine no matter how long feeds are.

Thanks Nutella. . Motherhood has made me crazy. So in love with my little boy it's frightening! ! He's just so tiny and has these massive Blue eyes that just look at me like I'm his world. He's actually amazing. I've feared the changes in my life and felt so utterly overwhelmed I hadn't appreciated what a placid baby I have. He's 4 weeks old and drinking 5oz bottles which he tends to have every two hours in morning and then it tapers off throughout the day and he will have longer stretches and less ounces. It seems normal I guess and I'm lucky he doesn't want the bigger feeds at night! So so glad to see some of you from pregnancy forum! Welcome and congrats again! !! :D
