  • Thanks Gilly and Mozzy. Love the F&F lace collar top Gilly. Managed to get a couple of plain tops from Tesco earlier but haven't had chance to try them with the dresses yet. If they don't match I will try and get that one in the morning.

Also love the spot & stripe tops Mozzy. Might get them for their Christmas

Nutella I love love love those wellies :j I don't know why I love kids wellies so much but I think I might be a bit obsessed with how cute they are!

Lobey, congrats and welcome. My tip would be to relish the fact that you have to wake your LO :rotfl:Tbh, unless she was underweight I wouldn't be waking her myself :o

The girls are sleeping at home for the 1st night since Friday as OH is off tomorrow. I've missed them so so much

Any tips on how to get through this first bit much appreciated! X

Hello lobey! Read back over the last couple of pages - you will see that we have all been there...in the "hazy" first few weeks everything does seem like you are muddling through! But it gets much easier - I remember sitting on the sofa when we brought baby home thinking....now what? (and what have we done!!!!).

What you have to remember is that you are doing a fab job and you aren't alone. Its lovely to hear (as others have said recently on here) that others are having the same issues as you - so read back a few pages and feel relieved...that you are doing well - especially as baby is wanting to sleep at night! :T
One word of advice though....don't follow any of the shopping links....this thread will become an expensive pastime!!!! LOL!

It really does get easier. Lo is 4 weeks old and I'm feeling much more able to cope. We had a great first day alone together today (oh just gone back to work). Only problem I now have is worrying about baby. Not sure if this is common but I'm up and down constantly checking his breathing. Tonight I had a huge panic attack as I lifted him up and he seemed to wheeze a little and I was petrified my thumb had slipped and hurt him. Going to go and see hv about it actually as it's getting out of hand. He was asleep long ago and I'm just here at 2.30am watching over him!

It's perfectly normal, I'd say. All you want to do is protect this tiny and fragile little thing :o I remember the first time my LO slept for a longer stretch than her usual 2-3 hours. I should have enjoyed it and made the most of the long-awaited opportunity to get some sleep - instead I kept myself awake by worrying about her and constantly checking that she was OK and still breathing!

Hi everyone! Another new person :) Baby Olly arrived last Saturday 26th. So far he has been a very laid-back baby, not depending on that lasting though lol! Looking forward to joining in, seems like a really nice, supportive group :D

P.S Nutella, i have already been influenced by your shopping tips and bought the lettersaurus for my nephew for christmas!
  • Morning ladies,

Can you recommend any cream for red raw bumness? Sudacrem just doesn't seem to be helping. Lo is pooing like mad with these teeth and his bum is so sore.

  • Mrs H, try Bepathen: http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/images/Bepanthen_nappy_care_ointment.jpg

I find it really excellent at clearing up nappy rash really fast. I'm still using cotton wool and water to clean DD's bottom as when I swapped to wipes for a day, her poor little bottom got so red and sore looking :(

My toddler is being a total handful at the moment..looking after a baby is a breeze in comparison!

My sister comfortingly told me that the 'terrible 2's are nothing in comparison to the terrible 3's'!! So good to know..DS turns 3 in January.

Welcome to the new mum's. The first few weeks are a really steep learning curve, my advice is just take one day/night at a time. Don't try and plan too much in advance, and if you don't want to leave the house..Don't!

Do whatever YOU need to get you through.

Knock knock. Can I come in?

Been lurking through the latter stages of pregnancy and learning a lot along the way.

Lucy was born on Sunday & we have been home since Tuesday night.

Going ok so far. Trying to bf but have supplemented with a couple of bottles a day. Also expressed yesterday.

I have large boobs - bigger than her head & obviously heavy which limits some positions. Persevering though but can't imagine how I could do it discretely or feel comfortable with anyone other than oh or best girlfriends around.

One day at a time is the mantra we are trying to work with at the mo.

    P.s. I'm a sucker for a bargain!

Thanks guys, I've been reading back a few pages and it's good to know others are feeling the same way. I'm BFing exclusively and it's hard knowing that with her being so little and unpredictable I can't really guarantee an hour to myself without the screaming beginning. I also worry she's not feeding for long enough, sometimes only 10 mins at a time and the midwives said she should be getting a 40 minute feed. I just like to worry about everything!

After a few nights of amazing sleep I'm starting to feel alive again and just adore her sweet little expressions and funny faces :)
