  • Cake4brains - I'm sure your girls will have a lovely day, you've had a lot going on so try not to panic. They'll love the wrapping paper and new toys if they are anything like my niece was on her first birthday earlier this month!

  • Afternoon.

Thanks for the replies re how we manage to cope. Sounds horrible but does actually make good reading to know I am not the only mum who struggles at times.

Tuesday was by far my worst day so far. I actually didn't end up having any tea as had gone beyond the point of wanting any food and actually had a headache at that point.

Hubby walked in and straight away took over, telling me to go have a bath. I just laid in the bath and cried. Hubby doesn't work Wednesdays so he got up to her Tuesday night which was just brilliant as I was really down thinking I was a rubbish mum. Not that we know for sure but hubby went out and got some stuff for colic and based on how she had been all day it was a possibility.

Tuesday night she was really good and yesterday and today have been lovely days with her. We went out yesterday to order some flooring for the lounge room, had a nice walk around the shops and got some lunch.

Today we've chilled out at home but she's slept really well which means I've had sometime to myself and enjoyed reading my book (mad about the boy)

Don't know how people do this on their own that's for sure. So grateful for my hubby doing all he is doing, especially cos I'm still recovering from my c section and honestly not that keen right now to have anymore children, hahaha as just cannot imagine coping with say a toddler and then a baby as well.

Sparkles Well done for little sparkles!!! :T

Gilly hope that you feel better soon x

Nutella I must not look at the links/toys that you suggest! That discovery house somehow fell into my amazon basket this morning after looking it up - oops!!! ;) Glad that your OH is home again

cake I am sure that the girls birthday will be fantastic tomorrow and they will love it, whatever!

lol mozzyc we're definitely not trick or treating here. :o in fact I usually turn the lights off so it looks like no one is home. Must say, where we live, doing that means no trick or treaters.

A is having an off day; not sure if its teething or if she's just feeling grotty. She was running a low fever on Monday night so took her to the docs on Tuesday morning. As she's had a cough for the last two months (and had two gp visits in that time) gp prescribed an antibiotic to help her kick this cough. Anyway, sometimes the antibiotic makes you feel a bit grotty too so who knows... she can't tell me unfortunately

Have a good evening all x

Ok, you'll hate me for saying this, but I've just noticed that the Leapfrog Lettersaurus is also on offer. It's FAB. LO loves it so much it came on holiday with us and along to surgery with us when she was having jabs. It's the only battery-operated toy we've got that I don't find annoying at all, ever.

(But having said that, I take no responsibility for Lettersauruses falling into people's baskets! :))

About to look on Amazon Nutella!

We went to our baby group Halloween party today - LO dressed up in her pumpkin outfit! :D (I felt really mean....but got over it when I took some cute pics!). BUT THEN disaster.....we stayed out a little too long....it got dark.....and I'd forgotten to put the glo-worm in her pram! Screams lasted the whole way home!:( (at least it is Halloween and the screams didn't sound out of place!)

So I guess I have tested whether the glo-worm works...and I can thankfully say, I will never leave the house without it in the pram!:p

Cake - awwww.....I remember being jealous of my cousins pull along Fisher Price dog - its funny how toys from our childhoods are still around!
