Matching PJs here too - it's a must!
Sammie, hope the hospital appointment goes well. Spain sounds fab!
I've just realised that when my LO isn't wearing any hair accessories, she could pass for a very small member of Jackson 5 :rotfl:She's currently posing in front of the mirror with her new Baby K ear muffs. All in the name of preventing ear infections, of course. At least it will be once we're outdoors!0 -
Thanks Nutella. Those ear muffs are amazing, I never thought I would be jealous of a toddler

OOooh lots going on here, I love new pjs too
Cake, hooray for the walking. :T
Nice to see you back Nutella, glad the return journey went ok.
Katie, hope G gets better soon, just have to give lots of cuddles.
Hello to all the newbies :hello: congratulations on all your precious LOs It does get easier, not so much getting into routine, but realising that it does really matter whether your get lunch at noon or not until 3pm because you've been cuddling a clingy baby that day. It's cliche, but they do grow up so quickly you don't want to be wishing the days away waiting for the next feed, or trying to judge if they need sleep. Roll with it, if they're crying, check try feeding, winding, changing and if all ok, then sometimes they either want a hug, or sometimes a little bit of alone time on a mat. Give yourselves time to recover from labour and your new body and hormones.
We had an eventful night last night. Had to go to the out of hours doctors. Poor T is always a little sicky, and yesterday evening he was on the playmat and when I looked over he had a couple of red blobs of blood in his sick on his bib. Blots rather then little streaks, but not loads ifykim. Got seen 30 mins later at OOH GP, reassured all ok and returned home. Phew! A little scary, but all good, so back to his rosy cheeked teething this evening.
Hope everyone well.

Thank you for this post. It's so reassuring. Did you feel put off having another in the early days following your birth? sorry you had an awful one too. I think I can identify with the feeling more attached as I feel the same. After coming round I had an infection and a blood clot and was kept on oxygen for hours - I really thought I would die and was absolutely petrified my OH would resent the baby. I kept saying please please don't resent him if anything happens to me because I just loved him way too much!
Anyhow I am here to tell the tale and I feel stronger today than I have for the last fortnight since he was born
Baby slept well last night. Put him down at 1am and he didn't get up till 5 - OH fed him thank god as I was shattered and then he was back up at 9.30pm so that was a good nights sleep on the whole for us! His pattern is erratic at moment though - can anyone tell me when they noticed a bit of a routine with baby? Some nights it's a feed every 2hrs or worse his feeds run into one another as he is so slow and falls asleep! Then other times he goes 4hrs on a 4oz bottle. I expected some loose routine but every day varies
I didn't really think about it, I was so utterly besotted and then got re-admitted to hospital when she was six days old and nearly ended up in a coma as I was so ill which distracted me a bit!
Glad you're feeling stronger and I totally identify with the OH, I don't think he quite realised how sick I was before, during and after birth until a few weeks later. But I made him promise that he'd love LO if the worst happened and keep her safe and loved for me.
We have a sort of routine but that's one she's created...she wakes around 8/9 and is really moody if not napping by half 10, then feed when she wakes sometimes briefly sometimes for ages, then bottle around 12 and another nap before 2 then bottle around 3 and final nap about 5, bottle around 6, dozes through evening till bottle around 9/10 then goes to bed about 10/11.
She still can't/doesn't put herself to sleep though, she goes sleep on me but we're going to try and break that habit so she'll self sooth once her last jabs are out of the way.0 -
Hey everyone
Nutella, glad your journey was easier, we are looking at maybe catching a late summer deal abroad so let me know any tips for a plane journey!
Welcome to the newbiessome of your births sound traumatic so I hope you can speak to the professionals and understand what happened.
Not much news here really, A is going through a huge attachment phase. He wants to be on my hip aaalllllllll the time, I struggle to even go for a pee its that bad! OH is feeling very left out as he wont cuddle or sit with him, unless its bedtime then he lets OH do books and bottle. Not sure how to deal with it, its draining for me but dont want to refuse him cuddles if you are with me?! Who knows with littlies hey.
Hope George gets well soon Katiehes having a rough couple of weeks isnt he. Hopefully he builds up his immune system now and fights off afew colds.
Our sleeping has gone to pot recently, since the ear infection really. Havent had a sleep through for over 2weeks nowso I best get to bed!

Thanks Nutella
. He's ok in himself really, just this hideous cough. Tummy seems to have settled but his bum just isn't healing up - its not major, just red but it can't be comfortable. The metanium helps and I'm changing him almost once an hour so it's not like he's sat in a soggy nappy. Can't think what else I can do to ease it? Any obvious foods I should avoid? Not that he's eating much at the moment anyway, and nothing different to usual.
Sounds like you're going to struggle getting much work done today?!
Has he been or is he on antibiotics? A had awful nappy rash in hospital and it eas thrush caused by the anti bios. They can prescribe something called clotrimazole I think. Might be worth asking the pharmacist or GP if ita not clearing x x xLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

He was on penicillin for the tonsilitis, and it flared up about that time. I never connected it at all so thanks! It is looking much better this morning though so I'll keep an eye on it, will definitely take him in if its not gone for good though.
George is exactly the same as Aiden at the moment, wants to be held and/or crawling all over me every second of the day, and moans, strops, screams and whinges when I have to put him down to do stuff. Totally draining, I ended up phoning OH in tears yesterday as I was so worn out with it. He's not sleeping well at the moment either.
Babies. Who'd have 'em?!Newborn thread member

Sorry its happening to you toowe were doing well this morning till he ran out of grapes and i had no more....massive tantrum. Had to get ready to go out so couldnt hold him anymore....massive tantrum. Its so draining. He wont even sit in his highchair anymore so I have to sit by him at the table, which isnt great when I need to dry my hair or pack his bag in the morning. I cant even have a shower without OH having to bring him in so he knows where I am. I love him to bits but sometimes I feel like he is constantly glued to me when we are together.
Makes me feel better though that I am not the only one!!
Hope you are all ok. Been to town this morning and stocked up on snacks on boots 3for2. Treated myself to a new perfume too, did see some clothes I coulf have bought but need to save for xmas really. We got A the happypand funfair and train set yesterday online, half price if anyone is stocking up.
Out of interest, those with the bigger babies , how much are you planning on spending on them at xmas? We went massively overboard last yeaf and he wasnt fussed at all as he was little. Now he is bigger though I think he will be more interested.
