Sparkles ... rolling both ways already? Well done, T can roll onto his front, but can't get back, so stays for a while and them just whimpers to be put back.

    L.xxx

I think front to back may have been a fluke but OH caught it on camera so it definitely counts :D Bet it'll be a while before she bothers again though :o her favourite time to practise rolling is when she's being changed!

    Evening all, I'm back! :)

Welcome and congratulations to the new people :)

I'm pleased to say the return flight was much better than the outbound one - it was overnight, I managed to get one of the three spare seats for LO by pleading with the cabin crew, and she slept most of the way :D Thanks to everyone who asked. Our holiday flew by and we had a lovely time. Back to work and nursery tomorrow, so have spent the day unpacking, doing the laundry - and sleeping! LO's being very clingy - OH is staying behind for another two weeks, so she seems to need lots of reassurance that I'm not going anywhere :o Fingers crossed for nursery tomorrow.

MrsH, hope your KIT day went OK?

Moneypenny, my LO has graduated from using the toothbrush as a weapon/comforter to being obsessed with putting it back in the bathroom. She normally tries to put it back before we've even finished brushing :rotfl:

Cake, I know I didn't comment last time round, but I've been thinking of you and the holiday that never was :( Glad your date night went well and hope you manage to plan another holiday soon.

Hope everyone else is well x

Good to have you back Nutella! Glad you and LO enjoyed your holiday :D

Busy busy here :( I'm hoping one day this week I might be able to stop running around in circles!

I did make 2 big loaves of banana bread plus normal bread in a sub kind of shape but little miss and me scarfed a lot of it with the soup at lunchtime :o Oh well!

I don't know what is going on with our bus service at the moment but they are all running really late (except for the one we were running for yesterday after school... naturally that one was on the dot so we all had to trek home in the tipping down cold rain ) so I'm going to walk to collect squeak from nursery, as I was 15 minutes late for her yesterday, and 20 minutes late getting home this morning, and 10 minutes late for school pickup yesterday!

Hope the KIT day went OK MrsH!

Little miss has had a nice day today, we've had lots of little chats. Not that I know what she's on about a lot of the time... but it's the thought that counts :rotfl:

    Hello everyone, another newbie here.

Had a little girl on the 6th October by emergency c section in the end, more than likely due to her having hold of the cord & causing the machine to show a low heart rate for her.

Been home since Tuesday evening and had to switch to formula feeding as ended up with her only feeding from the right side of me which caused my nipple to crack and bleed.

Been a bit shell shocked with everything and so glad hubby is off next week as well to help. Bit scared at the thought of doing it all on my own when he does go back to work.

My main issue is temperature, forever wondering if she is wearing enough as have a gro egg room thermometer which is great but then panic when is goes over 20c on if she is then too hot.

    Sooo much responsibility its frightening...

Thanks everyone for your welcomes and continual it is so nice to see a familiar user name from the preg thread :D

Sounds like you also had a tough time birth wise and that you may well be feeling like I do! Actually I am probably worse...if my OH goes for a nap or leaves room I bawl my eyes out! I am so overwhelmed with responsibility. If he cries for food or a nappy change I can handle it but he is almost 2 weeks old now and he has this other irritated cry and I don't know why he does it! It seems to be a cuddle thing as often I pick him up, he'll squirm and then fall asleep on me. Scares me sh**less to be honest!!

Thanks for the advice on discussing birth. I have decided to go ahead and have a briefing once I am well as I don't understand alot of what happened. I had an emergency c section after 14 hrs of labour and was told baby was transverse at this point (I had attempted to push), I ended up having an epidural, which was topped up for c section but cannula had moved during transit to theatre and it numbed me from neck down so I couldn't breath and ended up delivering under GA with assisted breathing. Following that I had a dural puncture as well as losing lots of blood and needing 2 (and possibly a 3rd) blood transfusion. And for 3 days my c section wound has soaked my pjs and bed in blood! So it's been awful really! But cliched as it is baby is so so so worth it although I admit I felt detached when I first saw him! Which makes me cry with guilt as I can't believe I felt that way!

Sorry - bit of a sob story for my second post!!! Hope everyone is well and congrats to any other new mums joining the thread x
  • Sounds like you really went through the mill Bangton, I'm glad the hospital have offered some sort of explanation/debrief. I had an awful birth too and wondered if it would affect my bond with LO longer term but if anything, it has made me more attached as I went through so much to safely deliver her. Strangely, it's not put me off having anymore either as I feel I can handle it again now I've done it once

Mothercare have quite a few half price toys at the moment in case anyone's looking for xmas presents. My LO will be getting a HappyLand Forest Fairy Treehouse :)
  • Wow bangton, sorry your birth was tough (although I bet tough doesn't cut right?) def have a briefing so you can understand the reasons for the way it went. Giving birth is a massive trauma to a woman's body as it is without all the rest of medically bits like c sections, blood transfusions etc. So it would help you to get your head round it all if you can discuss it.

My lo at I think 6 weeks let out this horrendous screaming cry that I had never heard before, I was at the in laws having tea and they kept saying it will be wind but I honestly thought he was really poorly because nothin I did stopped him. That cry is now reserved for jabs, if someone else picks him up that is doesn't see very often. So I totally know what your talking about.

Welcome by the way ad congrats on your baby. We're all here to support you!

I'm off to buy myself some new slippers tomorrow. So rock n roll!

Was thinking of you and your new slippers this evening as I put on my new pyjamas - I should not be this excited about a new pyjamas, but it's soooo soft and warm! Knowing that you're just as rock n roll made me feel a bit better! :rotfl:
