Tbh you'd be better using very little products for excema prone skin, washing infrequently and when you do use water only. I have a few CJ's products which are natural and organic, and they're beautiful but for a newborn, products aren't really needed :)

For dry skim oilatum jnr in the bath is good x

    I've been Money Tipped!
My LO is prone to very mild eczema, he only has a bath once a week and we don't use any soap.x
  • We use oilatum, I also used this when I had psoriasis :)

I bought this for Noah as he had dry skin on his tummy, worked wonders. I also suffer from psoriasis so thanks for the tip. :)

    Evening everyone

Congrats to all the newbies. :T

It was my ds1's birthday today. I have now, officially, been a mummy for 10 years! :D it has gone so quick though.

Katie - yes we are still going to special needs group on Mondays, it's really good fun so I'm hoping to take him every week.

Nutella - glad you're having a lovely holiday. Good luck for the returning flight, hope little one sleeps for you.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I'm off to buy myself some new slippers tomorrow. So rock n roll!

  • DD is 2 weeks old & I have to wake her up in the morning (normally about this time) to feed her as she has gone over 5 hours without a feed - am I just lucky that she will sleep this long?

Anyone else had same happen to them?

Also for those who had a c section - how long did you leave it before driving?

How is her weight gain Nessie? If it's going ok and she isn't jaundice etc I'd let her sleep :)

Her weight gain is good & she is not jaundice - although did have a spell whilst in hospital when she was in neo natal because she wasn't feeding from me well & slight jaundice (under the treatment line)

I think she takes after her mum & likes her sleep! as all day she has been feeding!

Tomoro is going to be strange - DH is going back to work!

That's sounds perfectly okay to me, she is obviously making up for her feeding during the day, if you're okay with that? :o

  • Hello All, Hope you are all well. Back at work at the moment and don't know whether I'm coming or going. Think I'll figure it out soon enough I hope.

As for what to put under gro-bag, we had a winter baby who slept in two thin cellular blankets in a moses baskets plus sleep suits. Though I use the word sleep lightly as she was mostly awake...as soon as she was put in a sleeping bag at 4 weeks, she slept better. Now, I use a 2.5tog sleeping bag plus long sleeved vest plus sleepsuit. I did put her in a fleecy sleep suit plus sleeping bag recently at the caravan but it is really cold there - don't think I'd do this in the house for fear of overheating.

Incidentally, anyone know if you can get mittens for winter for 1 year olds for bed time? Crazy that none of the sleepsuits in this size have integrated mittens! Our baby just pulls mittens off and tries to eat them so they end up soggy and her hands end up colder :(

This little one is now crawling at top speed, has 8 teeth, can stand by herself and took one step by herself (and still brandishes her toothbrush like a weapon at bedtime Nutella!). How amazing are babies! I'm in awe at their development!

Congrats to all the new people and hope all the oldies are looking forward to having a 1 year old / 2 year old soon :D
