Quiet in here, I've not got much to report. I had my 34 wk mw check up with DD2 today and everything seems fine.

I've converted DH to my way of thinking, we are on a water meter and in bid to try and reduce the amount of water we use I have been putting DD1's bath water into buckets and using it to flush the toilet. He thought I was crazy, but it smells nice and should save us some money on our water bill.

I have also been putting the bucket under the shower when I turn it on, it is usually about 2/3 full before it actually goes warm. I dread to think how much clean water we waste waiting for the hot water to come through everyday!!

I'm just trying to hold out until Nov before I put the heating on, but DH keeps protesting and to be fair if it gets much colder I will as DD1 is my priority. DH can put on another jumper!! :)
    Got married 13/11/10 :)

Seem to be doing a lot of running around here for a lot of not much to get done...

Have been swimming tonight and feeling very tired now!

Little miss has been absolutely lovely today, have had a happy day with her really.

Hope everyone is doing OK and I'll be back in the morning I expect!

    Morning!
Either everyone's really busy, or nothing exciting going on.
Lola, we try and hold off til Nov for the heating, we'll see if we make it that far with LO, feel a bit mean if he gets cold though. Love that you're using bath water to flush the loo ... very MSE!
T has seemed to develop a new sleeping pattern. He's bedtime routing (brush teeth, story, cuddles, change in to grobag) starts about 8 ish and by 9 he's normally had final feed and is asleep. Pop him upstairs into crib and he sleeps for about 1hr then wakes up and cries hard, but drops off quickly in our arms again, so back in crib, asleep and will stir again as we get into bed (normally only15 mins or so later... we're still in the same room) but settles himself to sleep. He's too little to just leave crying to settle when he wakes the 1st time, just seems to get more worked up if we leave him only a very short while. Should I be doing bed time later? Earlier? Or is this just normal?
    Any tips?

  • Hi lazy, I've been trying to get lo to bed earlier so have been doing his bath for 7 and bottle for half 7 but he still goes to sleep as late as 9 so I'm not worrying, it's obviously just the time he wants to sleep. :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • Morning all. Lw, wih the gro bag what are you dressing lo in underneath? I have been using a long sleeve vest and our room is 19c although lo feels just ok when he wakes up, not overly warm.

Not much going on here, the days fly in, vant seem to get anything done round the house as lo wants loads of cuddles. We have booked a night away soon so looking forward to that :)

Hi ladies, hope everyone's ok? I've not been on much as not had much to report. Both G and I ended up with tonsilitis last week, both better now and G is sleeping better again, although still waking for no apparent reason atleast once a night. Got bigger nappies to try overnight tonight as he seems to save his pee up til nighttime!

Glad your visit went well Sammie :). Did you go back to that group this week?

It's freezing here today, and windy :(. Made me realise how I'm going to have to get seriously organised with things to keep him occupied when it gets too cold to be out and about.

I think you're right MrsH, he'll sleep when he wants to sleep, and maybe just a little bit of a cuddle on his wake up is all he needs.

Minimuffin, last night he had a vest, long sleeve sleepsuit and 2.5 tog gro bag. Dropped to 15.5 though, so probably as cold as the house will get (we'll be thinking about putting heating on if it gets much colder).

Katie, you're right, I'm having to think what we can do to entertain ourselves as it's too wet and cold to go out just for the sake of it.

    Hi Everyone...

Just wanted to join in the thread really :D. Had my little boy 8 days ago and having been a member of the pregnancy club I'm a bit lost - especially as newborns are so scary!

Had a really difficult birth that I haven't quite recovered from so I have found the first week of motherhood really really difficult although I'm totally in love with my little fella! :D Due to being unwell I haven't been able to breastfeed. Intended to pump breastmilk but that hasn't been possible so I am now trying to find my feet formula feeding :o

Not alot to say really but I really needed somewhere for support I guess - at the moment google is my best friend!!!

Welcome Bangton, between us all, I think we've seen the highs and lows, so hopefully we can help if you need advice with anything specific xx

    Hello all! :hello:

Hope everyone's well - OH's gone out to see some friends and LO's asleep, so I thought I'd make the most of a quiet evening and an internet connection that works for a change :D I've read back, but can't remember much... Welcome to the new people and thanks for all your good wishes :)

Our holiday's going well and LO seems to be enjoying herself, although to be honest the most exciting thing for her seems to be spending quality time with mummy and daddy together - the fact that we're in sub-Saharan Africa probably matters much less to her :o But she loved yesterday's trip to the beach, she's enjoying staying in a big house with lots of space to run around, and she's slightly less scared of grandma now... :o And Katie, you'll be pleased to know that no bath water has entered her mouth :D (although she gets to have her dummy, which she's never allowed at home).

The flight was as dreadful as I'd feared - there wasn't a single spare seat, so I was stuck with a 17-month-old child on my lap for seven hours. She didn't want to walk around by herself, and they had no food for her (despite their website stating that there'd be a selection of meals available; no need to pre-order - they only had jars of chicken and beef mush, and as she doesn't eat meat and refuses shop-bought mush, she ended up eating my rice and lentils and I had a glamorous dinner consisting of three bread rolls... Flying KLM with an infant? Beware!), but thankfully I'd brought lots of snacks. I'm not looking forward to the return journey, but am hoping she'll sleep at least part of the way as it's an overnight flight.

Will be back home on Monday, so expect more frequent posts from then on.... Till then... have a lovely weekend all :)
