  • Lo is getting his second tooth! Two in two weeks! Talk to me about toothbrushes, I know some of you had had probs with lo's. What do I start with for tiny teeth? Any tried and tested good ones? :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Oooh yeah, MrsH, I sort of forgot about the need for a toothbrush. I've been rubbing T's little tooth with muslin at night after feed just as he drifts off, dentist said to use a soft cloth at first. T's second one is well on it's way too. He's been much more unsettled with this one, have resorted to a dose of Calpol the past couple of nights (him, not me!) to help him settle down for the night, hopefully will fully cut through soon.
Off to NHS weaning talk tomorrow, not sure it'll be much use, but may give me some answers to give MIL who was up for giving him mush at 4 months. Seems like they recommend BLW (or certainly finger foods) here, so should be on my wavelength.

I have aquafresh ones. I suspect they're all much of a muchness, just make sure you buy the 0 - 2 years ones and that they're soft. Your baby will probably chew it to death so be prepared to replace them more regularly than you would your own - Freddie's on his fifth.

Some tips for cleaning teeth. Sit them on your lap facing away from you and pop your little finger in their mouth right at the side of their mouth, so that it's resting between the gums at the back. This helps prevent them clamping their mouth shut. Then get in there and give those teeth a good (and quick!) brush. IME, they absolutely hate it :D

    Morning all

    Hope everyone is well.

Gilly - my DP can work long hours and sometimes 7 days a week so I sympathise with you on how hard it can be. My DP Also likes to tell me how tired he is or how hard he has worked! I think we can get forgotten about at times but I'm sure they would notice how much we do if we disappeared for a weekend and it was all down to them. ;)

I have portage coming out for a home visit this morning so really need to find some motivation from somewhere and at least Hoover round the cr*p in my lounge!

  • I think it's 18 weeks to see a consultant. The resulting treatment might take much longer.

That's what I thought and then when I saw the consultant a couple of weeks ago, he said we have to get you done and off the list within 18 weeks.
Wish they'd hurry up, I feel so rough with it and it's starting to make it hard to pick up LO :(

In baby news, she now rolls both ways :D Proud mummy. Really need to get her up tomorrow and get her weighed, havent in about a month. I would ask OH but I doubt he'll be up in time. The things we have to do for our babies even though it's my birthday so I should be laying in!

It's just how it is, isn't it :o I feel like I do a lot, maybe not as much work as he does, but I don't stop very often, so it just makes me feel a bit useless when he moans, as if what I do doesn't matter :o

Good luck with portage, sure they won't care about a little mess :D

There's no hard and fast rules about getting LO weighed. I think we've been around 4 times in 20 months, 1st time was his 1st jabs, 2nd time was his 2nd jabs and 3rd time was his 3rd jabs, see a pattern emerging? ;) So if you don't feel like it, don't worry, go another week :D

As for us, we're going to take the side of the cot at the weekend  I think he's ready, but I am not looking forward to it. He seems to be getting really upset at going into the cot, but will quite happily nap on the floor for over an hour with a blanket over him in his room with the door closed, so going to give it a go! Wish us luck, we'l need it :o

    It'll be fine gilly :D

Sammie, don't stress about the hovering. Portage are coming to visit Noah, not check for dust :rotfl:

I've just put some washing out, got more in, will hang it out before we go out in a bit, feeling unusually productive. I've even got all the mats from the table in the dishwasher (they are granite type , OH's from before we got together) and washed the table cover down...

Think we will have toad in the hole tonight, before I go I think I'll make the batter and peel the spuds as well, then hoover and clear up. OH will have a heart attack when he gets home, I reckon, as I'm normally a total slob :rotfl:
