Just joining. My little girl is six months old, weaning well as long as you feed her fruity porridge- anything else gets chucked at you.

Teething and separation anxiety are our issues though. She hates it when Mummy tries to go out without her. As we don't have grandparents etc who can help, this leaves Dad with a screaming bundle.

Sorry, should have said hello and welcome to the thread! :hello:

We've had separation anxiety issues here too, and we still do to some extent, but it does get easier :o

Welcome Emma! We have separation anxiety issues too, my boy is 17 months (almost). Like you we don't have anyone local who can take him and as I'm a wahm he's with me all day every day. We have found though that if I'm not there ie if I'm in the shower or the odd occasion I go out without him and OH, George will cry for a few minutes then settle down and be fine until I come back then he starts off again. I think its a case of perseverance.

Nutella enjoy your trip! Hope the flight and the bath water drinking issues are ok!

Mrsh2b George doesn't eat veg even now, unless it's hidden in pesto and cheese and pasta. He'll get there eventually, I've given up stressing over it now - it's not like I can get him in a head lock and force it down him so there's no point worrying too much.

Also, I think your pur!e feeding rather than blw? We started on pur!es and I found I was a lot of more stressed with pur!es - once we started blw the control was all his so if he didn't pick it up then he didn't pick it up, I wasn't trying to get a spoon in to a moany wriggler for the whole mealtime. Not trying to say everyone should blw but that was just my experience :o

    hi guys,

Sorry to just drop in but I asked on the benefit board and recieved no reply!

Has anyone taken the extra 3months unpaid maternity leave...and how did this affect your tax credits?

Currently recieving child tax credits not working tax credits but I am trying to work out my return date to work and since I've been told I need to update tax credits if I take the extra 3months I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't go down? I plan on saving enough to cover my wages but I still would need a simlar amount of tax credits to take 2months + off.

    Any help appreicated x

  • Just a quick further update - we decided to see a private lactation consultant yesterday who diagnosed a posterior tongue tie and snipped it quickly and without too much fuss or tears.

I think I have noticed a bit of a difference already (barring the early and late feeds when we're both a bit too tired), but will give a few more weeks before deciding what to do.

Big huge thanks to fluffnutter - if it hadn't been for you I would not have known what was going on.

Omg, I'm so happy for your Oscar, brilliant that you got it cut. From what I'm aware it can take a week or two for baby to get used to feeding more efficiently. Good luck xxx

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok. And hello to the new mums

Sparkles, I feel your pain re gallstones :(. Ive been waiting almost a year for an op to remove them. Its hands down the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Enjoy the party!

That's not on! NHS guidelines say that the GP HAS to refer you and it has to be all done and dusted in 18 weeks. I'd get back to your doctor!
