  • Hi guys,

Hi applecrumble (love the name!) and welcome to the thread :) My LO, who's 16 months, is not a good sleeper either, so you have my empathy! But apart from that, she too is fabulous :D
  • Hi applecrumble

MrsH, yeah, T is 21 weeks today (5 months next weekend). He's looked like he's getting teeth from day one. Not really doing much else for his age though, has only rolled a couple of times and doesn't sit at all. I only felt for it as his cheeks were bright red yesterday and thinking about it he's been more clingy and a few more dirty nappies.... ah ha, it all makes sense now!
  • Welcome apple crumble!

I've got a very sad little man today, had one of the worst nights of his little life last night - just up and down to him crying. I was sure we'd find atleast a couple of new teeth this morning but not that I can see. Little guy hasn't eaten more than a handful of raisins and a dry cracker since yesterday lunchtime. We've been in London all day for a game show we always go to, he's been good but moany the whole time. Now I've typed all that he's climbed off my knee and is jumping and running around the flat. I swear to god I have no idea what the flipping heck is going on with this boy at the moment! I want my nice, happy, cheerful boy back :(

Lol nutella I'll try and post a pic later, he really needs a haircut again - the spike has gone all flat as its too long. He still looks like a mad scientist a lot of the time me though, or like he's been electrocuted!

Fingers crossed he eats his cheese on toast please, there's no chance he'll sleep through with a rumbly tummy, and molars and canines shuffling around in his gums :(

  • Katie, poor George :( Aiden is pretty much the same tbh. Not eaten since yesterday morning, been very very whingy and sleepy all day.
Slept on my knee earlier and when he woke his temp was 40.3!!! Eek! Stripped him down and calpoled and he was down to 38 in 5mins.
In town park earlier which he usually loves, he went mental. Kept screaming and just didnt know what he wanted. Ended up pushing him round until.he dropped off!

He has gone to bed now on just a fruit pouch and a bottle of milk. Have a fan on in his room and have decided to give him some calpol again when its due just to keep the temp down.

Hope G sleeps katie, think I am in for a rough night too.

  • Thanks guys! all those with teething babies have my sympathies ds1 was a bloomin nightmare with teeth, he'd get sky high temperatures and i'd have to alternate calpol and nurophen to keep it down, horrible! ds2 isn't showing any signs of getting teeth yet but I'm soo hoping he's one of those babies where they just pop through!

Poor George and Aiden :( Hope they both improve soon and you get some sleep tonight. My LO was like that earlier in the week (I didn't go to work on Monday, as I didn't think she was well enough for nursery) and I still don't know what caused it - at the time I thought it was teeth or another ear infection, but it doesn't seem to have been either. Whatever it was, it seems to have gone, and today she was running around like a maniac and giggling like a loon for no obvious reason; it's like she'd saved up lots of energy that she needed to get rid of! :rotfl:

    Two 'firsts' today:

She had her evening bath in the big bath tonight - first time we haven't used the baby bath. At first she looked a bit lost (and very small!) and wanted me to pick her up, but then she realised how much more space she had to splash about, and by the time she had to come out of the water she didn't want to. Success! :D

We also tried using an open cup for the first time today, inspired by you lot on here :) It went really well - she was very excited about it and kept asking for 'mah! mah!' (more). She had five refills (each about 1cm of water) and only one of them ended up on her clothes :D

So all in all, I'm one proud and relieved mummy tonight :)
  • Yay to the open cup Nutella! George seems to find it easier if the cup is fairly full, less tipping required. But obviously, more potential spillage! For that reason he is not having blackcurrant squash until he is atleast 12 ;)

We never even had a baby bath :o We used a washing up bowl when he was teeny, then just chucked him in the big bath. I've just started using his washing up bowl for the washing up. Seems amazing that he ever fitted in it :p

Another bad night here, how was yours sunshine? Don't know whats going on - if he wakes and I lie him down he screams as soon as I turn to leave but if OH goes in he goes straight off back to sleep? Guess he maybe just wants mummy cuddles. He's napping already again now which isn't like him at all.

Sorry you had a rough night :( ours was awful too. Woke at 11 and then was up on and off all night. He didnt want any breakfast but has had 3/4 of a yoghurt and a fruit squeezy.

Had to calpol again as we were on 38.4, hoping the temp stays down this time.

We had only in the last 2months sorted his sleeping and now we are back to square one!! Aidens quite happy in himself, so god knows whats up with him?!!

Hope everyone has a good day. OH is going to visit his parents while I go shopping, I had my new wage this month and have spent quite a bit in Sainsburys and Mothercare for Aidens winter wardrobe so going to treat myself to some winter boots and a parka coat.

We didnt have a baby bath either, yay that she enjoyed it Nutella x

  • Sorry you had a bad night sunshine. Hopefully he'll snap out of it and start sleeping again properly.

G is awake, he's really hot to touch but the thermometer is only reading 32? Before his nap he was at 36.8. Stupid thing, 32 can't be right! Think I'll have to get another, for my peace of mind.

And we've got a flipping 2 man film crew from channel 5 coming round at dinnertime to interview us about a silly video my OH made for YouTube. Typical - after two awful nights sleep and when G is under the weather too! Concealer will be liberally applied...
