    Morning

We are off to our weekly music group this morning. :)

We start a special needs baby group on Monday too so I'm looking forward to meeting other mummies who have additional needs children. Anyone got any plans for the weekend? DP is working all weekend so I'm planning on taking the kids swimming tomorrow and staying in Sunday and cooking a roast. DP and ds1 are out this evening for a theatre type performance so I'm hoping to have a lazy evening for the rest of us :D

  • Just wanted to update you all. LO has been referred to the tongue tie clinic - hopefully they can see her next week. HV suggested I also try Colief which I've bought and started to use. Any idea how long it takes to work?

I also braved the hairdresser yesterday after tanking LO up for over an hour. Less than half an hour later (and just after the first foils were on) E started screaming her head off and chugged down nearly 5 oz of EBM, and still wanted more! I ended up trying to stick her on as discreetly as possible despite the sideways glances of the bloke beside me (cringe). Thankfully after a few minutes she fell asleep and napped for the rest of the appointment!
  • Cute pics everyone.
Hooray for the tongue tie referral Oscar, sounds like you might be getting somewhere. Also well done on the haircut, I walked round the car a couple of months ago to put LO back in his car seat after an impromptu feed and hadn't covered myself up at all... thought it felt a bit chilly... it's amazing how people chose not to look!

What counts as a first tooth? His 1st lower tooth has broken through the gum, it's sharp and tings on a metal spoon (MIL suggested as a way to tell if it's through) do I note this as the date of his 1st tooth, or wait until it's poking up enough to see in his smile?

Because the HV you saw thinks she has one? Loving the fact that you breastfed in the hairdresser's too. Nice one :D

Whichever option you prefer, but personally I consider that 'we have another tooth' as soon as it's broken through the gum, as that's when I know we'll have a few decent nights before the next tooth starts working its way through. Hence worthy of a mini-celebration :)

    TMI question coming up...

A couple of weeks ago, LO was a bit constipated and passed a hard stool which caused a small tear. It hasn't healed yet, and she cries when she does a poo. I've googled, and the consensus seems to be that it usually heals in a couple of weeks, but that it can take longer. Has anyone else's LO had this, and is there anything I can do to help her beyond diet-related things like lots of water and fibre? Her poo is normal now, but it obviously still hurts :(
