  • Welcome Oscar, sorry you're struggling a bit with bfing, can't really offer much advice I'm afraid but fluff and Gilly usually know what they're talking about ;)

G has still been a moany manny today but we atleast had a totally fuss free teatime for the first time in days (homemade turkey nuggets and half a sachet of one of those tilda kids rice things, so it was a favourite!) so for the first time he had "proper" pudding, rather than just fruit and yogurt. We all had choccie chip pancakes and ice cream :D. Funny that I was never overly emotional about big things like when he first slept in his cot etc but his first real pudding really struck home that he's a big boy now :o

  • I'm so terrible at coming on here! Just read back to catch up.

Cups - we use the cheapo tommee tippee free flow ones (£1 each) for cow's milk or water, and have started using them with the lid off occasionally (eep!).

Sammie big hugs for your news, I'm glad to hear that your local team are being both proactive and supportive.

Reu is now eating by himself - he's pretty good at scooping with a spoon, and it takes a few attempts but he can spear stuff on a fork too. Highly recommend the oxo tot plate/bowl/cutlery set.
  • Can I have some piccies please ladies?? When I remember to come back on here in a week's time, I'd love to look back and see how big all your babies are getting :)

  • Evening :)

Hope those who were poorly are feeling better now and lo's are sleeping well.

Sammie sorry to hear your news, but am really glad that its been identified this early and you're getting appropriate help. Early identification and support/treatment can make a world of difference. I hope it does for your LO.

Oscar it does get easier... promise! A fed every 2hrly, until about 5/6pm when she would feed almost constantly until 10ish and bed. I remember thinking I'd never go out again... but after 6 weeks it got easier, at 10 weeks it got easier still and now at 22weeks its a doddle. It did get easier as A got bigger and sometimes I would hand express a little to help her latch initially.

Thanks for the discussion about sippy cups - I'm starting to think about those as we head towards 6 months and weaning. I'm really looking forward to starting weaning, though it makes me a little sad too. I'm looking forward to A having the experience of tasting and enjoying food but I'm sad that I won't be her sole source of food.

We had a few days away, first with my cousin and then at a Travelodge. It was so easy with A; she was so good - both in the car and when we were actually away and out and about during the day.

Rest of our week is looking busy and I'm hoping to hear back from my manager regarding my return to work next year. I've requested to reduce my hours so fingers crossed

    take care all

Hi all, can anyone recommend any good toys? Lo is almost 12weeks and think its time to get some nice musical toys with lights. Never bought any before and he only has his play gym.
We had our 2nd time at play group this morning, there are some clickey mum groups but it was ok, I want lo to get used to being around other kiddies as he is going into nursery in march when I go back to work. Might try a baby music group.

welcome oscar, sorry have nothing to offer re bf as lo has always been ff but hope things gets easier. Xx

Hi Mini! Long time no speak! :p

This is absolutely fab! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-Discover-Grow-Kick-Piano/dp/B004V8VQC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380142371&sr=8-1&keywords=kick+and+play+piano+gym - we have a play gym, then I bought LO this - its absolutely hilarious to watch her and it keeps her entertained for at least half an hour at a time! Its been worth every penny - I just wish that I'd had it since birth! (watch the video on Amazon - my LO looks exactly the same playing it!).

We also have this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lamaze-LC27131-Soft-Chime-Garden/dp/B003HS5JTO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380142801&sr=8-1&keywords=lamaze+flower which she is becoming more interested in. But I got it for around £13 from Tesco online - not sure if they still have it at that price though.

Try swimming lessons also! My 13 week old has just attended her 4th lesson and absolutely loves it! I reckon if I was to let her go, she'd be doing doggy paddle lengths of the pool on her own already - she has been underwater for the past 3 weeks too and doesn't seem to mind it! Plus she gets to mix with other children there too!

  • Good morning ladies

Well after 4 days of hardly any sleep my lo had a great night last night, we got him to fall asleep in his crib which he hasn't done while being ill and he woke up in his crib for the first time in 4 days! Only woke for his dummy!

However me and oh have woken up with a sore throat so guess who's passed the germs on? Ha

We've been bathing lo in some snuffle stuff and then baby vicks on his chest before bed. Seems to have worked a trick!

Had sweet potato for tea last night and because I've given in to lo these last few weeks I'm bored silly of it, not even me eating it lol! Been on ellas kitchen website and going to copy their pouches, minus the gassy foods, so not to play his reflux up, so going to town after to buy more veg! He's trying butternut squash today :)

    Wonderful pix turtle!

Can anyone tell me good cheap things to get a 9 month old? Lo will be 9 months for Xmas so want to buy some things before my mat pay runs out next month!

Sorry for mammoth post. What's everyone up to today?
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
