Nutella, glad the flapjacks went down well :) I loved them too but also love normal ones! Going to make some oat bars from a blog called life after teo blue lines tomorrow, I will post a link to the site and will you know how they are!

Turtle, fab news re your house! Sounds like hard work but if its your forever homw you dont mind do you?

Well the investment buyers offered :D little bit less than we wanted but they are cash buyers and can complete in as little as 21days!! Still chatting to OH about it as it will mean we are left with less than what we ideally wanted to start the extension on the new house but I think we will go for it. We just want to get settled in the new house tbh and I dont think we will find a quicker buyer than that!

Jonno, hope your LO sleeps well and good luck with the house sale/hunt xx

on the weaning, if you are BLW I'd be less worried about the exact 6 months rule - if they're doing the sitting up, grabbing stuff, etc they might be ready to eat. We started giving him food to play with a few weeks before (he was late and big so I think earlier was OK in our case); from 6 months we made sure he sat with us at table 3x a day and was offered *something* to play with / possibly eat. It seems if you wait till 6 months you can feed anything from the start (low salt and no honey though) where if you start before it's the fruit/veg only, maybe baby rice, etc etc.
If you are considering blw, stone fruit (destoned) is a good start as it's sweet and so soft (he hates the skin though).

    Hello ladies and gent :)

Hope everyone's well - Jonno, hope your night was better than the previous one?

Sunshine, that's great news about your house, even though it isn't quite as much money as you'd have liked.

Hi Turtle!!! Sounds like it's exciting times for you! :D

LO and I have just finished making frittata for lunch - it went fairly well, although she did grab an entire handful of grated parmesan and stuck it in her mouth. Takes the concept of 'tasting' to another level :rotfl:

Have a good day all - I've got an afternoon of housework to look forward to... :o
  • Hi all

Quiet here today! We took A to the monkey forest this morning, he really liked it. Decided to be brave and leave the pushchair in the car too, he did really well and OH just had to carry him for 5 mins on the way back down.

We still some of those canine pointy bottom teeth coming, he woke up last night and was inconsolable :( poor boy. His eating hasnt bern great for a few days either so think its all linked.

Hope you all had lovely Sundays :)

    Fingers crossed we all sleep!

Regarding weaning, did you all wait until six months exactly?

25 wks. As you see, lots of different times - just go with what you think is best. I would agree with fluff though, it definately took a good few months for us to get established with it too. x

eeeeeek I've got a poorly spotty boy - hand foot and mouth :(
  • Not sounding like a great day for the lo's.

Turtle hope your lo's rash improves

Nutella hope the teeth don't cause pain for too long.

I'm waiting for a poo! From lo, not me! It's been two days and cycling doesn't seem to help which it normally does.

I'm enjoying weaning! I'm loving all the different tastes my lo is going to have, I'm excited everyday for the feed with the food lol! He's had baby rice and now carrots and potatoes, I'm going to try with apples and banana custard soon too! Eeeek

I took LO to the doctors this morning. She has been throwing up every night for the last 5-6 nights. She's fine in the day, very cheery and eating well, but then come to the night time she's throwing up sometime after we put her to bed. I have been checking on her before I go to bed and a couple of times she has already thrown up or she hasn't and then we go in the following morning and she's thrown up. The poor thing its all in her hair and all over her sleeping bag/pjs/bedsheets and she's obviously just slept in it :(

The times she has thrown up before I go to bed we've stripped the bedding/pjs etc and then put her in the bath, apart from being a little groggy from being woken she's happy as larry splashing around and being her usual chirpy self.

Last night I was giving her some dinner and she began retching and just threw up, I managed to catch most of it in my hands! We put her to bed and she was fine when I checked before bed, but this morning there was a small patch of regurgitated sweetcorn on her bed :(

Anyway the doctor was clueless, she basically ruled out a bug (I kind of guessed as she wasn't spewing all day), not an ear infection, not abdominal migraine, she's pooing and weeing okay so no blockage. She's eating and drinking fine in the daytime, so at a loss really!!

We put the monitor on (we haven't used it for months now) and we don't hear anything so I don't think she's in any pain, well I hope not.

Anyone have a clue? No one else in the family is ill and she hasn't been incontact with any other children who have been ill. I'm tempted to move her into the spare room and for me to sleep on the spare bed to keep an eye on her, but the bed is really uncomfortable especially since I'm 29 weeks pregnant.

Fingers crossed she gets better and not worse

Just to say the weaning can sometimes cause their little tummies to go a bit crazy and all of a sudden you'll have the grossiest, most disgusting smelling poos ever! I wasn't going to say but I thought prewarned was prearmed and all that! :rotfl:
