Hey all, I'm reading and keeping up as much as I can, but been a bit hectic here, we are back living with my Dad for the time being just until my OH gets settled into his new job etc and it's exhausting living with someone else :o Very happy to be 'home' though it's great seeing everyone again.

R.e the plane journey, I'd go with a packed lunch all divided up to little tubs, so there was a different tub every hour or so to eat (so blueberries in one tub, maybe dry cheerios/puffed wheat in another, raisins in another etc) Books with flaps/touchy feel areas, crayons and small notebook, replica of a real mobile phone (can get these from Ebay for around £3) or a fake sky remote or your actual one brought from home with no batteries :o stickers are good too with a magazine/sticker book, and also the Ipad with apps to play with and episodes on he can watch even without sound.

Good Luck though, 7 hours is a long time :o 5 hours in total travelling (door to door) is the longest I've done and it wasn't fun :o

  • Hi all, really must try to post more often, been trying to keep up with housework, lo doesnt sleep too much during the day when we are at home! We moved him into his cot a week ago and he looks so tiny in it, bless him. We are going to a mums and tots group next week and im so nervous, im rubbish at small talk and worried no one will talk to me but it will be great for lo. Im such a wimp!

Good luck with the flight nutella, the inflight entertainment on long haul have kiddies programmes (i think!) on, so maybe that might keep her amused for a short while if she likes cartoons.x

  • Gosh it's all a bit hectic Gilly, nice to "see" you here.
Minimuffin. You'll eventually get a bit of a routine when LO may not be asleep at home, but happy enough to be left for 20 mins on a playmat whilst you have a quick blitz... remember if you don't disturb the dust, it's less noticeable!?!! Well done on venturing to toddler group, I'm not a very sociable mummy, but T does seem to engage so well with other babies, I do try to do at least 1 thing a week. I prefer groups with something to do eg baby yoga, so you don't have to constantly make small talk.

  • Thanks lazywife, he does lie on his mat for a bit I only gt time to do something small in that time like sterilizing the bottles. Only really going to the group as mil helps out at it and persuaded me, its the only one ill go to cos ill be back at work in march and wont be able to keep going. Must look into the baby yoga, they have a baby massage group nearby so that's an option too. x

    Hey ladies :hello:

No more giant spiders thanks, nutella :D sorry have been awol for a bit as we've been trying (!) to sort the house out :o

Yes he's home now and been off work, came back from the school run to find he'd tidied the kitchen and cooked dinner! Was chargrilled chicken with chips, tomatoes and mushrooms. Slightly diet busting but very yummy :)

We have a poorly little miss, she has a sore throat and been very restless. We had her in with us last night and she was a right little fidget bum, don't feel like I slept at all :(

Hope you enjoyed your hair appointment sunshine :)

Has sammie been on yet? I do hope she's okay.

We started baby massage and yoga when LO was six-eight weeks old, and I really enjoyed it (and I think she did too!). We also went to a baby swimming class from around four months. Like Lazywife, I prefer slightly more structured activities to general groups - and the benefit of a massage group is that you can use your newfound skills for months afterwards :) My LO is 16 months (today!), and after a period of her refusing to lie still, I've now re-introduced massage to her bedtime routine after her bath, and she seems to enjoy it. If she didn't, I'm pretty sure she'd let me know

I've just responded to the government consultation on proposed changes for tax free childcare and thought I'd post a link here in case others are interested too: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/tax-free-childcare There's a simple ten-minute survey to complete.

  • Hi ladies, been a while since I've been on, have attempted to read back but not got very far tbh :o

Only thing that stuck in my mind is nutella's upcoming 7 hour flight  hope you find something's to occupy her! I'd be tempted to let her wander up and down the aisle for some of the time. I reckon people would rather have the odd poke from a happy toddler than screams from a missable one.

G is being a monster this week, think it must be teeth as the only time hes ever been this bad before it was teeth. So clingy and moany, this morning he was following me round clinging to my legs and sobbing :(.

  • Hallo ladies

My dad arrived on Monday so have both my folks staying with us until the end of Oct now. I am craving a little "me" space - they're both going to visit my cousin for next week so will have my house to myself again.

Other than that, we had A's second swimming lesson this week; she just loves it! She's had a cough for a couple weeks now, but in all other aspects is fine and her usual self. Took her to the GP who said bring her back if she's a fever for 3 days, she's not had any fever and seems to be coughing less. However, whatever bug she has I think she's passed onto me as I'm now coughing.

On baby groups, I go to swimming class with her and we've just started a music class. I also go to a baby group but admit I mostly listen to the conversations going on as I'm quite shy and not big on small talk. A plays on the mat with the toys/watches the other babies and seems to enjoy it which is why I go.

Hugs to anyone who needs them and hope that everyone has a nice restful weekend ahead x
