Nutella - have you thought of an aqua doodle for the flight. They do travel ones and you only need water. Each one has a different daring time it seems but if you did it early on in the journey you'll likely get 2 uses each way. It's also a toy your daughter can use on hols and back at home rather than just buying something specifically for the flight iyswim.

Thanks, yes - I actually ordered one from Amazon a couple of days ago! Great minds clearly think alike! ;) We have an aquadoodle mat, but it's not very portable, so I'm looking forward to trying out the travel version. I went on a bit of an Amazon spending spree the other evening - I'm not sure I'll actually be able to fit everything into my hand luggage! Although I'd obviously need to also put a few things in my suitcase so they can be 'new' toys for the return flight :o I also found a few small, cheap things in Tiger and Sainsbury's.

Fingers crossed you get some sleep tonight - we've got two teeth coming through at the moment, so messy nights here too :(
  • Mrsh2b - our swimming pool has set times for aqua tots, its where they have the baby toys and floats out and a swimming teacher on hand if you need the. They also have public swim slots when anyone can go. The times you cant go here are when its adult only and lesson time.
I put A in a little swim nappy, we have a wetsuit now but we go every other week so its worth it.
I used to wear some flip flops to the pool as I was worried about slipping over but tbh I dont no and Ive never slipped.
I find the trickiest bit getting changed after, I used to take A's baby carseat in the changing room and when he was dressed sit him in there with a little rice cake or similar - I cant do that now as he is too big lol so I have to make sure he wont slip over or try and escape when I am getting dressed.
Oh, take a spare swim nappy - I didnt have a spare once and the sides of his split, I had no choice but to put him in a normal nappy - when we got out his bum looked like nikki minaj!

    :rotfl:Oh dear, poor boy!
  • Haha nikki Minaj.... Love it!

Oh and thank you for all your comments re swimming! I'm trying to think of things that we can do as a family now he is a little older.

  • Another swimming tip is to take a dressing gown for baby, we got her all dry and in a fresh nappy and wrapped her up in that and sat her in her car seat. That was at a private pool though, I wouldn't take her car seat to the local pool, I wouldn't trust it would be there when we got out.

I asked at Reception, one of the staff put it by the pool and when I was done they just came and put it back in our cubicle. x

Hope everyone is well. Its cold here today, may have to put the heating on!.

    The heating's on here - it's 12 degrees outside! And it's raining :o

Just done some laundry and made a spinach rice bake for lunch, and LO and I are now having a snack :) Hubby's asleep after working all night and LO's having a nap in a minute, so I'm debating whether to sleep too. Had the best night we've had in weeks though - with the exception of a dummy request at midnight, she slept from 7pm to 5am :j

Hope everyone's well and enjoying their Saturdays x
  • Spinach rice bake sounds nice Nutella. What recipe do you use?
    7pm-5am sounds lovely:)
T's also catching up with a cheeky nap.

I use this recipe - minus Worcestershire sauce as I'd never use it for anything else + I don't toast the pine nuts or soak the rice for anywhere near that long as life's too short! It's yummy and LO loves it too :)
