  • Regarding weaning, did you all wait until six months exactly?

No 24 weeks, my lo has had loads of problems with reflux and we've never had a happy medium with him so we thought we'd give it a go. I think we've done it at the right time, he started sitting unaided on Sunday and when we've tried him with baby rice he's swallowed it all, not spat it out. So I think we've done right! :)

He was born 6/7 and had his first 'real' food (a taste of yoghurt) on 1/1 so almost six months.

But weaning's such a slow process that for the first few months he just had a suck of this and a chew of that. He didn't really start eating any real quantity of anything until around 9 or 10 months.

I was naughty she had a small pot of fromage frais (Plum- no added sugar, I think) at 17 weeks, but I took it really slow. Fromage frais or baby rice a little bit every other day and then I slowly built it up. She didn't have reflux or anything just because I was naughty. She was ebf apart from the tiny bits of fromage frais/baby rice, then I slowly gave her pureed veggies like butternut squash with potato, sweet pots, carrots etc.

She was a right greedy guts and at about 6-7 mths was demolishing as much as I gave her, it looked like I was starving her to death the way she was eating. It did get to the point where she was eating stupid amounts of pureed veg, but refusing the breast so I cut it back to get enough milk into her. I don't think she understood the full feeling when she was little.

Hey Nutella, good thanks. How are you both?

We're good thanks :) Any news on the house? Am crossing my fingers for you!

We've had a really nice couple of days - I was off yesterday, and LO and I finally made the gingerbread mum flapjacks. It was our first ever attempt at baking together, and it went pretty well - she appointed herself Chief Quality Controller and made sure every ingredient was tried and tested and fit for human consumption before it was poured into the big bowl :D They're soooo yummy! I'm not a fan of 'normal' flapjacks as I find them too sweet and sticky, so these are perfect. Hmmmm, Katie and I are not very compatible when it comes to flapjacks! :rotfl:

Went to a playgroup for the first time today, run in the 'other' language LO's being brought up in (not saying which one as it's not that common and I've already shared way too much about myself on here!). Really friendly and informal and she loved it - and took to it much quicker than I'd expected as she's normally very quiet and shy in unfamiliar places with unfamiliar people. We'll definitely start going regularly :)

Just been to have passport photos taken for our holiday visa applications - it's fascinating to compare the pictures taken of LO today with those taken for her passport when she was three weeks old. She looks so grown up! :o

She's worn out from today's activities (which also involved stocking up on wet wipes from Boots... the excitement!) and is now asleep in the buggy whilst I'm drinking coffee.

Hope everyone's well and enjoying their weekends x

Lola, my LO loves the Plum fromage frais :D We alternate between those and Rachel's Organic 'my first yoghurts' as they're the only two I've managed to find that don't have any added sugar.
  • Hi all :) been reading but not posting as been mad busy now I'm back to work full time  glad everyone is doing ok.

Fingers crossed on house sunshine. We're hoping to have ours on for sale by the end of the week. We're going to look at one tomorrow. It's in our prime desired location and a good price. I hope we don't like it too much as ours not even on yet :o

Hoping LO will sleep better tonight she woke at half 3 today and didn't go back down until 9  safe to say I'm knackered. She is teething though. Just doing bedtime feed hopefully tonight will be better. Surely it can't be any worse :rotfl:

    Enjoy your evening everyone :)

Hi sunshine, nutella and other regulars :)

So sorry I've been AWOL, too easy to go on fb on my phone....I rarely go on the computer any more. Finding myself with very little spare time with Reu, full time work, housework and working overtime.

    Update summary from us:

Reuben is walking, properly, outside and everything. Love love love his little trainers, so cute!

I've put an offer on a house and it has been accepted - it needs lots of work but the plan is it is to be our forever home so I don't mind the work. It's a huge 4 bed end terrace, hoping to complete mid-end Oct, no chain so should be quick hopefully!!

I have tried to catch up on here but sure I've missed/forgotten loads.
