  • Thank you Nutella, you've now got me excited for family cuddles! I can't wait :)

  • Evening ladies :)

I cut A's nails whilst she's asleep although I have cut a few whilst she's awake but having a feed - that's a good idea though about doing it whilst she's watching something. She loves watching Postman Pat and sits still for the full 15min of an episode so I could try it then.

Paid our deposit for her nursery place today; even though it is only for May next year I was still sad to do so. I've put her down for Tues, Wed and Thurs - now I need to negotiate with work to reduce my hours to working on those days. It's mad but no one at work will discuss it with me "until nearer the time". Hmmm how does that work when I need to reserve her space in nursery and need to give them the days I need?

Sorry to hear about the buyer sunshine. Will be holding thumbs for you x My sil and her partner have just bought their first house - we popped round on Saturday to see it - SO excited for them!

A still loves cuddles (18weeks) but she is growing so quickly - turning into a proper little girl instead of my baby.

MrsH - Yay for sitting! It is so exciting isn't it! OH and my mom had a bet on when A would be sitting - hehe she exceeded their expectations and started sitting last week.

Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday

Thats interesting, your LO is about 3-4mnths older than mine and I was wondering only a few days ago about the bed transition. How did your LO do? Did you go to a proper bed or just remove sides from cotbed? Did you have a bed guard thing too?

    Xxx

Squeak went into hers (low cotbed with the sides off) at about 14 months, the same time she went into her own room. I was dead against it, OH just did it anyway! It was fine though no problem.

Little miss forced my hand too by launching herself out of the cotbed at sleep time  on her sister's birthday, no less.

And speaking of those two, little miss has a scratch under her eye from when squeak threw a toy at her :( just in time for back to school too. I did deal with it but it's always a tricky phase.

Last night I was getting ready for bed and I put the lamp on the windowsill on and got ready to do the curtains, when I saw what I thought was some sticks right next to the lamp... So I'm thinking how did they get there? Then I realise it is a spider the size of a saucer :eek::eek: So I rush off downstairs to get the fly spray and when it legs it like usain bolt I can actually HEAR it running _pale_

And the scariest bit, the night before I kept hearing what I thought was a moth bumping into the lamp... When it was actually probably flipping Aragog himself eating moths inches from my head :eek: So I didn't get to sleep till 2am and then was restless.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who turns to a wobbly kneed mess when confronted with an 8 legged beastie :o

Delain, you're dealing with five children AND the Usain Bolt of the spider world all by yourself? Forget treats - your OH should bring back a medal for you! Although it has to be said that although I'm no fan of giant spiders, the thought of looking after five children scares me even more... :rotfl:

If I hadn't had any raid I'd have slept downstairs :o:o

To be honest the best thing he could bring me is a lie in at the weekend!

Normally I like to be in bed quite early and with it being the holidays and twin2's ADHD always bad this time of year as she has ASD too and all the changes (transition to new class etc) she's just been completely mental :o and it's been rare for me to be in bed before midnight, the one night I do manage it I have spider trouble! If it has been earlier I would have gone and got my neighbour who isn't scared of them :o

I finished the stand and have almost finished the Tommyknockers now too... Have been having a bit of a readathon since I haven't wanted to go to be with the kids up.

How are things with you anyway Nutella? Are you all geared up for your holiday?

  • Delain you crack me up, 5 children and still a spider scares you!!

I used to be really scared of them but seems the house we bought is home to all and sundry. I've become a spider killer this summer! Hate the things!

  • Another spider hater here, had a monster in our living room/bedroom last night, ran straight towards me along the skirting board

We made a batch of that sugar free flapjack yesterday, from the gingerbread mum blog, G helped stir and tip everything into the bowl :o. He seems to like it, must admit I prefer my flapjacks with sugar and syrup though.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well, the time has come for my not so little man to go into his seperate room now.... oh, no, not Ted, he's still in the crib next to our bed, DH has had enough of T's night time chit chats (when he wakes he coos, oooh, ahhhs and gurgles until he drifts off back to sleep, or after his feed back in his crib). He's happy, just noisy, so DH has utilised the spare room to get a good night before work... he loved it (and I have to confess so did I as didn't feel the need to quickly shush T so as not to wake Daddy). It won't be every night, but maybe once a week so DH can get a good sleep :)
He's also the spider hater, I'm put off more by snakes myself. Especially after that story of those poor boys who has a sleep over about the pet shop and the snake got out and strangled them..... aaarrrgghh!
Glad you've tried those flapjacks Katiechoc, you could always drizzle on some golden syrup after for a bit of naughty?

Unfortunately the flapjack is just too full of healthy fruit and seeds for me! I'm hoping its freezable as there's tons of it, far more than G can eat before it goes bad.

We've just been to the library, sans pushchair this time. It's about a mile and half there and back, and he managed all the way there and most of the way back before he got too tired and wanted carrying :D. He's busy hoovering with his baby sized Henry now, hope everyone is having good days :)

All good thanks, although it's a mad busy week at work and I'm exhausted - and it's only Tuesday! :o

As for the holiday, every now and then I have a moment of panic - how I'm going to cope on my own with LO on my lap on a seven-hour flight (OH is leaving before us and coming back later, so we won't be travelling together), how I'm going to stop her from drinking bath water (typhoid risk), whether I'll be able to hide crushed malaria tablets in her food and therefore get her to take them... But I know we'll be fine once we get there - we're off in exactly a month's time today! :)
