If i keep moving it's ok but after being still the pain starts. Has anyone else experienced this after pregnancy? Mam says it could be lack of sleep. I've not heard of anything like that as a common thing after having a baby. I think you should visit your GP. Get your circulation checked."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Hi everyone,
Not much of a poster, more of a reader (and this is a great thread for picking up tips !), but I wanted to post following dippydooda's post.
My little boy is 16 weeks now and I have had foot / heel pain since his birth. I spoke to my doctor at our 6 week check and was advised it was proably 'post pregnancy plantar fasciitis'. It has something to do with the pregnancy hormones which cause the muscles to relax I believe. Mine is getting better now and only seems to play up once a week or so.0 -
Hi everyone
I've also had knee pain and what feels like weak knees, particularly when getting up from the floor or a low surface following my pregnancy - 17 weeks on and it is getting better although if we have a bad night, it is worse the next day again.
Hope that everyone has had a good day. My little lady has been having a few bad nights recently, not too sure why though but I'm hopeful things will settle again.
Hope everyone has a good weekend

I've had issues with cramps in my feet since i had DD1 (11 years ago!) and it's always been worse during and in the year after pregnancy. HV said it was just something that happens to some people.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Hi, thanks for everyone's replies! Fluffnutter-that's a good point, especially since I had pre-eclampsia, could be related perhaps as my whole body swelled up as the organs failed. Seems carolan, delain and saffa have had similar pains. Fingers crossed mine will start to go but I am definitely going to make an app with my doc though. I've always been quite 'nimble' lol, now I feel like an old woman!
Fingers crossed sunshine
I'm hoping for a better night tonight, my eyes were googly i was so tired this morning!0 -
Interesting (and comforting) to hear others have had similar problems, dippydooda. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. I've just got bad circulation on the brain because my mum's just been diagnosed with this having had terrible pain in her back, hips, buttocks and legs for years (which was put down to arthritis). Pregnancy can play havoc with your vascular system so I wondered whether you might be suffering something similar. Probably just hormones though innit"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Sounds like there's a bit of a tight squeeze all round bedroom wise, hope you find a buyer soon.x
Sorry can't help with the feet prob Dippy, I do find some days I'm really stiff from carrying T though. Good news on the sleep.x
Woke up with a startle, T shouting in crib as he'd got his foot stuck between the bars. He's done it before when he was sleeping without his grobag in hot weather, now he's doing it in his grobag too. Does anyone else's LO do this? How did you fix it? He's only 16 weeks so don't really want to put him in his cot bed in his own room yet and the bars are the same distance apart anyway, it's just the bed is wider so he can spin round without poking his feet through.
L.x
My son did that too, and good news is it is a short phase. I did actually blog about it at the time here which may help. The main thing I remember doing which worked is to put up the cot bumper, but I tucked it into the mattress so that he couldn't get his arms or legs under it. This stopped his arms and legs getting stuck. I just used a normal bumper that I had already bought.

Oops forgot to say that I also suffered with knee pain during my pregnancy and for about 9 months after my son was born, I couldn't kneel down, which is hard when you have a little one. It did eventually go away, but I would advise seeing a doc, which is what I should have done, it probably would have gone away quicker. My darling boy born December 20110

Evening all
Quiet on here today - hope everyone's had a nice day. I got to indulge in a bit of pampering - facial, eyebrows and haircut :T Got home in time for OH to head to work and for LO and I to have a yummy falafel wrap lunch - it's been a good day!
I've concluded that my little girl is a shopaholic and/or fashionista in the making. At 15 and a half months, she:
- Actually likes food shopping - as long as she gets to explore the things we're buying. Stuff in noisy packaging and in-store promotional leaflets and recipe cards are particularly interesting.
- Loves unpacking shopping bags - in fact, the moment she spots a carrier bag somewhere, she'll empty it out and investigate the contents.
- She loves new clothes and even likes trying them on; and then has to go and have a look in the mirror of course! And then she's off to show daddy if he's at home.
- Anything shiny or sparkly is very popular, and hair accessories are the best thing since milk.
- She also likes clothes with pictures on them, especially animals. I wasn't allowed to put on her PJ top this evening until she'd had a little chat with the cute little bird on it.
- We tried on a warm winter slipper in Boots yesterday, and she wouldn't let me take it off again. The lady at the till confusingly looked into the basket and said 'there's only one slipper', to which I said 'that's OK, the other one's on her foot'. It stayed on her foot all the way home - despite 23 degrees and sunshine.
- I bought her two new bibs today. She kept alternating between them and pointing at the animal pictures, and couldn't decide which one to wear - then decided to wear both at the same time for the rest of the afternoon.
Just as well she's got a savings account!0
