If I could I'd go to an independent kids shoe shop every time. Clarks are a bit of the best of a bad bunch I find (and I shop there for A's shoes) Not there fault, but there staff are paid minimum wage, and if you've worked in retail you know what that's like. They take on temp staff to cover back to school time, how much training and experience do they get you do wonder.
When we move there is an independent, so I will probably go there. It's where I always went. I find the owners of these places really know there stuff, they've dedicated there lives to fitting shoes and selling them so I find they're slightly more knowledgeable.
In saying all that A has conversewhich weren't fitted, but he has quite average feet (I think) and he screams to get them on so I figure they can't be uncomfortable.
So basically what I'm saying is, shop aroundwon't be any cheaper but if it'l give you peace of mind, it'l be worth it xx
Edit: Clarks will also only fit Clarks shoes, so if you need something a bit different, they may not have it. I know of some kids with feet wider than an H (which is the widest they do) for example. xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Mrs b - photo shoot sounds great! Hope you enjoy it. Would love to see a pic after if you would post it on here?
What are we all putting babies to bed in while its warm? Tonight my little man is just in a vest with a cellular blanket on his legs.

LO is still using her duvet at night (blanket for nap time as she gets hotter then), wearing long sleeved pyjamas & shorts. But we're keeping the windows open, so it's not actually that warm at night; it's 19 degrees in her room at the moment...0

I've her window open and haven't pulled the door shut and the monitor still says it's 26 degrees in her room so she's just in a short sleeved vest! I'm certain the neighbours have their heating on as it is hotter in our house of an evening/night then it is outside during the day over the last 2 weeks - can't really knock and ask them to turn it down0

Morning ladies
LO is on her first nap of the day  I'm just having a coffee and a quick read on here, and then I'm going back to bed too. Rubbish autumn weather here today - rainy and windy and 13 degrees - so we're staying in. Really looking forward to LO being old enough to help with baking (not that I'm wishing time away, but you know what I mean...) - today is the kind of day that baking was made for!
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Morning ladies, sorry I've not been on much, combination of busy and not a lot going on that's worth mentioning!
First nap of the day Nutella  what time were you up? I had to settle G at 5 then he went til 6.40which is something of a record at the moment. He's currently playing with one of his vtech cars from his garage which I'm sure OH will curse me for, it's so loud!
Horrible weather here too but we're going to a friends' house for dinner, they've just announced they're expecting twins
On the subject of shoes G has only had Clarks so far but he's only needed one pair at a time. You can find some bargains in their sale, got his first pair for £9 reduced from £32 :money: I expect he will end up with some from cheaper shops if I can't find any in the sale.Newborn thread member
