Thanks jonno. Will dry pail then, like you say they wont be hanging around long anyway!

Can I please ask another question? We used 3 re-useable yest. the first was a little lamb with a fleece liner and a paper liner. This might be a really stupid question but is that right? Should I be using waterproof outer pant things? Cos the nappy was dripping wet after her 1st wee. Including the outside . The 2nd and 3rd were just internet cheapies that do seem really good. Til they wear them! They went to Grannys and were wet through all up their backs and down their legs within half hour
    :(

Dizzi, the memory bear sounds interesting. Just googled it and will have to ask my crafty stepmum if she fancies making a couple :p

Hugs to all the ladies who are feeling down at the moment. The weather certainly doesn't help!

Little lamb bamboo nappies need a waterproof wrap, with that they should be very absorbent.

The Internet cheapies. What are you stuffing them with? A combination of one microfibre insert and one bamboo insert should do the job okay but just make sure they are a nice tight fit around the legs as that's where itl leak. Any questions just ask and il do my best to answer xx

Thanks Gilly, is it normal for them to need changing every wee then? Sorry to sound so thick!

Stuffed the internet cheapies with a thick liner (doesn't feel like the microfiber ones I've got) and a papery liner. Maybe I will need to wait for the girls to grow a bit more so they're more snug

    Hello :hello:
I will add myself once I can find the list! My son, Jack, was born (eventually) on 19th July 2012. It really has taken me this long to actually sit down at a computer! I was on the birth club thread - if thats what it was called:o.

Anywho, I thought it was about time I came on here and said hello.

I don't know if I am the only one who doesn't know where the time has gone, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since I was sat round bored waiting and waiting...and waiting for him to be born and now I have action baby who went from newborn to terror in less than 6 months! He was an early crawler, once he had mastered a week of crawling he was pulling himself up on his cot, no place is safe and you really do need eyes in the back of your head and even then thats not good enough! :rotfl:

I am after some teething stories as Jack has been dribbling constantly for about 3 months now, there are two gummy tooth like bumps which don't seem to want to turn into teeth. We have had awful nappy rash which has gone and bit of a sniffle which could be to do with his teeth. Anyone else had this? Come on teeth!!:T

Thanks for reading my ramblings and I shall be back soon - nap time is over, time to wake the little guy.

A liner won't be enough to hold all the wee, a liner is more for keeping bum dry. Tiny nippers sell loads of boosters and all different materials.

You won't need to change after every wee, I'd say every 2-3 hours or when there is a dirty one.

But you do need to make sure they are absorbent enough, and a nappy is only as good as what they're stuffed with :D

Welcome and congratulations! :D Time really does fly by, doesn't it?

We'd been 'teething' for months when two finally appeared at approx. 9 months. She was dribbling loads for several months and we went through several bandana bibs a day (if you don't have any - get some, they're fab!) and we still do as she's now dribbling again. Around the time when the teeth appeared (probably two or three days before) we got a terrible nappy rash, the dribble stopped for a week and she was really miserable and had a fever for a couple of days. I know this varies a lot from baby to baby, but for us it's been really prolonged. We're now waiting for Tooth 3 at 10 and a half months :o

  • hello all

I am looking for some advice, my lo is 10 days old and I'm wondering how much your lo used to eat? He's having 60-80ml every 3-4 hours.

Once a day he seems to have a couple of hours where he just won't settle without having a bottle every hour, like cluster feeding.

I know the baby knows when they are hungry and will only drink until they are full but does this sound normal?

Any advice is appreciated, as you can tell this is my first.

    :)

Hi elj!! Teething here comes with a particularly irritating high pitched whinge "eeeeh eeeeh eeeeh" noise, for a couple of days. Just when I'm about to sell/kill/give away the wee mite, up crops sore bum and these weird white bulges on the front of the gum - NOT where the teeth come out! Then I fee sorry for him and guilty for meanie thoughts, and for us here, once those white bulges appear it is 1-2 days and out.

I have found teeth 1, 2 and 3 once they've broken through have been full sized within a week. Tooth no 4 has been here for nearly 3 weeks and is only half the size of its neighbour. Weird!!
