When should I get a jumperoo? At what age do little ones start enjoying it? I have a £25 credit on Amazon for the Amazon Family subscription, so I could get the Rainforest or Precious planet one at £59 or the discover and grow for £50. Which one do you have and when did it start tobe used?

We got ours at 5 and a half months-ish, but could definitely have got it earlier - I'd been trying to avoid getting one (they're expensive!) but gave in after trying and failing to eat lunch several days in a row... :o We have the rainforest one, and it's fab, but they're probably not that different to be honest. Worth getting it sooner rather than later I'd say, as they lose interest once they're mobile, so it has a fairly short lifespan. If you try her in it and she's not ready, just try again a couple of weeks later.

Happy for her to have a word, although I don't suppose she's going to want to share! :p

We've used Sudocrem at every nappy change since she was born - if we don't, she gets a rash. I'd say it depends entirely on the baby - some probably need it, others don't.

I use a barrier cream for things like the overnight nappy where I know it's going to be on for longer than the norm, or when I remember to use it the rest of the time - first sign of redness and the metanium comes out and normally kills it dead - Erin usually has a beautiful squidgy perfect bot doing that... having said that at present Robyn's got a bout of awful nappy rash (not sure if it's wipes or just adjusting to the outside world or whatever so we're back on cotton wool and water) and so's Erin (think hers is teething related though)

Metanium is a godsend! His bum was cracked and weepy, once I put metanium on it cleared in a matter of days. I now use the metanium everyday at each nappy change (both 2 for a fiver in boots at the moment) The rash could be due to me changing which nappies he has so we are just finishing this last lot off with the metanium and then seeing how he goes. I was told by a midwife that you don't need a barrier cream with a disposable but now I'm thinking is it best to use one or not? Any thoughts?

If the cream means your baby's bottom isn't sore, then it doesn't matter what a midwife says - use the cream. We've never had to with Freddie, he doesn't really get nappy rash (and it's not because I'm forever changing him either - just lucky I guess!). But it will entirely depend on the baby. Barrier creams can reduce the absorbency of the nappy, but if you find his bottom better with the cream than without I'd say keep using it.

The advice is to use it sparingly just where the bottom looks sore, rather than slather a thick layer on all over.

    Morning ladies :)

Marta we had G in his jumperoo from about 4 months. We bought it when he was barely 2 months though as we spotted for £60 on amazon. The price varies a lot (couple of weeks ago it was over £100 on amazon!) so if its cheap I'd go for it even if you don't use it right away. (We sold ours while amazon had it for £100+ and sold it for more than we paid for it :T:cool:)

how is your LO sleeping now Nutella, any improvement? No sign of Freddie settling down either Fluff?

George is running me ragged already today - tried to clobber the tv with a stacking cup and battered the storage heater with a set of jingle bells. Soft play this afternoon, can't come soon enough!

This photo says it all about Erin's opinion of the new state of affairs around here!

And it really makes you remember how small newborns are! When I look at Freddie it's as if he's always been the size he is now. If I held a newborn again now I'd think it was tiny!

    Beautiful :)

Right then, I hope everyone is having a good morning & had a good night too! I'm hoping you wonderful peeps can help me out with a question I have as you've always been so amazing in the past :) We've bought a 2nd hand quinny buzz & I'm trying to work out what year it is so that I know which spares to buy, mainly do we need the 2nd stage seat or just the XL cover for the seat unit we have?!? It looks like a 2011 or maybe even a 2012 but I can't tell & don't know the differences between the models! Here's a bit of a description & pictures...

    Shopping basket & 'buzz box'
    Neoprene padded seat
2 shoulder positions for the harness
    5-point harness
    Plastic clip to keep folded

Best place I can think of to ask is the pushchairs section of mumsnet - there's a couple of posters on there who'd probably be able to tell you.

    Morning ladies
Thanks for the nappy cream advice. His bottom used to be perfect when he was just consuming formula, now he is on three meals a day it is probably all the fruit and veg having an effect! It looks as though I put that I use the thick yellow metanium everyday - I meant they do a normal barrier cream for everyday use :o

Ahhhh dizziblonde how sweet! Right, I'm going to wizz round and attempt a few jobs before his lordship wakes. He went to sleep still clinging to the cot bars! Lol
