    Morning all :)

Katie, that's fab re. sleep - long may it continue! We had another good night thanks - she was awake between 2 and 3 doing a bit of walking and climbing, and wasn't impressed when I suggested that she might want to go back to sleep, but apart from that she slept from 8pm until 7.15am! :T Hope you have a nice time at your MIL - we're at my parents' at the moment, and LO is being spoilt rotten!

...Which reminds me, whoever asked about toys for planes (Silly Moo?) - I used this bead maze last week, and it kept her occupied for ages. It's a bit bulky for hand luggage, but was worth bringing anyway. Although it clearly wasn't as exciting as the emergency procedures and the infant life jacket... :o

Have a good day all x

Thanks Nutella. We ended buying two new 6+ toys and linky loops to keep the toys together and prevent them from falling on the floor. I wish I'd known about linky loops before as they are absolutely brilliant. I don't think my LO will be interested in playing with them for much longer but we will still be able to use them to attach toys to his pram. He did want to play with the emergency procedures but I thought they would be full of germs so didn't let him.

Starting to get slightly concerned... baby's not started regaining weight yet - only lost 3 1/2% of birth weight, wakes for feeds and feeds fine - but just isn't gaining at all yet and we're onto day 9... midwives aren't concerned as of yet (not even concerned about the remaining jaundice) but obviously I am in case we're looking at all those things that haunt my nightmares - back into the hospital, back sorting out childcare for Erin if I end up in there (can't ask mother again after a stunt she's pulled recently), feeding tubes and other things.

  • I hope she starts gaining soon dizzi - it sounds like the worry is rather stressful. Don't know whether this helps but I have known people with full term babies not be discharged from MW care until three weeks because of taking that long to regain their birthweight and they were never at a point where they were potentially going to be admitted - they were just slow at gaining.

Dizzi, took us 2 weeks to start regaining weight and then he shot up 7oz in 48 hours! It will be ok :)

Little man was awake at Mr T for the first time today and I managed to do a whole shop with him awake BUT happy!

Also might have bought little bunny ears to take photos on Sunday. Me, a cruel mother? Never....

    He's going to hate me when he's 18 :D

Evening everyone. Had sleepless nights the last couple nights, hoping its just with colds. Someone mentioned a few weeks ago about sleep regression at 4months, could be that I suppose. Does it normally last long?

Gilly, thanks for your replies about the nappes and liners. I googled boosters and that is what we used in them the other day. They are really thick, much more so than a liner. Also used a paper liner on top. Will have to invest in some waterproof outer pants for them.

Went to baby group yesterday and made easter cards for Daddy. Wasn't as messy as I expected, even though they did painted handprints on the cards!!

Hope everyone has a good night

Hopefully we'll be doing OK with feeds and stuff overnight - she's taken slightly more this afternoon and evening (but was hitting the feed totals given to us by the hospital anyway) - everything's coming out the other end in the required quantities at least... just need that reassurance that her weight gain's started up - even though I know Erin took a while to gain properly, she still gained from the middle of her second week but this is static.

Midwife's coming again on Sunday - should be my usual midwife if the rotas are correct - it's a bit inconvenient since my family are visiting then and I won't be allowed to raise queries with her since my mum will shout me down for being neurotic and paranoid like normal... it's just her umbilical cord healing being the other thing I'm worried about slightly - it fell off quite early compared to Erin's, but keeps gunking up, scabbing over and then the scabs get dislodged so it seems to be slow healing up because of that (however careful we are over it)... I seem to be MORE worried this time around with a bigger, nearer full-term baby and straightforward delivery baby than I was with a teeny tiny little mite last time... but that could be my anxiety/PTSD going haywire - I haven't been back to the doctors to discuss medication yet if it's needed for me.

Erin on the other hand to add to the fun has her first two teeth still desperately trying to cut through and is NOT HAPPY about them... so there's lots and lots of her screaming going on until I crack and break out the Calpol (hate giving it unless I'm relatively sure it's something tangible bothering her)... somewhat frazzled over that alone!

Dizzi I have just seen the pic of your two girls and wanted to say that they are both absolutely gorgeous! :D. Hope everything gets better soon with Robyn's weight. Sorry have nothing useful to say as all of mine had massive issues with feeding.

Quick post to say that the jumperoo has been a huge success. She loved it and jumped around for quite a lot time. She was exhausted at the end and yawned whilst bouncing.I had to put a big pillow underneath her. I cannot believe how much she moved, she likes kicking her legs but I did not expect her to enjoy it this much so early! Thanks for the recommendation and advice!!

Dizzi, my lo lost 14% by day 5 and did not get to birth weight until day 13. I know it's difficult and with the PTD and the anxiety, but try not to worry and enjoy your girls, ignore your in laws and treasure these moments, these precious first months can only be lived once.
