Hi Kate - DON'T be tempted - for your own sake PLEASE!!!!!

Don't feel too badly about it, though I was terribly sorry to hear about your dear mum's poor dog, such a terrible time, but it must have been the kindest action to take. Try and impress on her that it was an act of kindness. You did marvellously in not succumbing to temptation :T at the vets and should be so very proud of that. Hang on to that pride instead of the inhaler incident please!

I'd imagine you're talking about one of the inhalers that helps folk give up (much the same as a patch), but nothing tragic has happened, though I wouldn't recommend you use one if you don't need to. You're NOT addicted to it just because of that momentary need and no long tern harm will come of the nicotine so don't fret over it too much. Look upon it all as a bit of a blip, which is quite understandable given the circumstances and go back to how things were before the event.

So try to think nothing more about it and go back to the day 5 as though it hadn't happened, do it for your mum, but mostly - do it for YOU!!!! You're doing so very well, keep strong Kate and keep QUIT!!!!!!! Go back to the water, fruit and exercise and keep your mind focused on the wonderful things of life and how far you've come already

    Love and hugs, Sue x

Thank you Debbie...hope your cold is now gone, mine has! Things haven't been easy for me over the weekend, we had to put my Mum's dog down. She is devastated. I was desperate to smoke outside the Vets but i didn't.:j

    Hi Kate

Thank you for asking, I'm still a bit bunged up and sniffly but its definitely on its way out, thank goodness! So sorry to hear about your mum's dog, its an awful thing to go through but I'm sure it must have been for the best. Still very upsetting though. You did really well to resist the urge to smoke - well done you. :)

    Have a great smoke-free day everyone :T

  • Thanks Mintoze and Sue UU for the encouragement. I do find it hard to drink water in this colder weather but have found if I put citrus fruit in, lime is my favourite or orange and mint leaves it tastes fab.
Smoke Free since 13th September £1400 better off

What I have done though is to keep inhaling on one of those plastic things with the nicotine inside. This means I have actually put the nicotine back in my body after day 5

I was in a real state after this as I now feel that I am addicted to the nicotine again. Have I gone back to the start?!! I keep thinking that it would be quite nice to have one.......

Kate you did really well not to smoke. It is so much harder when life is stressy, but you would be more stressed and fed up if you smoke you are doing so well keep it up!!

Hi all.. great to see everyone is doing so well

Not a lot to report for me .. on day 7 of Champix so start on the full dose ones tomorrow... only on about 4 or 5 ciggies a day so not smoking too much but may well bring forward my quit day (like I did last time ;))

Taking nytol as well this time to aid with the sleeplessness .. seems to help me get off to sleep quicker.. means I get the full effect of the weird dreams :rotfl:

Still wake up in the middle of the night (though to be fair this happened before I decided to quit :D ) .. must be a light sleeper!

Anyway .. keep up the good work everyone:A

I'll be posting more regularly when quit day comes around!!

Am pretty sure i'll not only make my smokefree but will hopefully beat it .. remember from last time that once I start taking the full strength champix all my urges to smoke went away so hoping it'll happen again this time!

Hi all and very well done indeed Waspeze, the sooner you're able to give up the better surely. All the very best for whenever it is ...and I'll keep an eye out for the news from now on too! :j I hope the Nytol, works (is it ok to use with the champix?) and you can get some decent sleep, it certainly helps in every way if you're able to get a good night.

Your drink sounds delicious themammy, a brilliant idea and refreshing for the taste buds.Good thinking.

So pleased to hear your cold is finally starting to let up at last Debbie, you can then begin to feel a heck of a lot better with smoking too.

I hope all's well with you Kate, I see you've been on today and I'm hoping you survived that horrible time without any crutch.

All the best to EVERYONE! Keep at it, you WILL make it throught.
