    4 weeks for me today.

Keep going chaps! Every day that passes, the concept of smoking becomes more alien and it becomes concurrently less likely that I will ever smoke again.

Although I do have the occasional "I'd like a fag" moments, they arent nearly strong enough to seriously bother me (although they are an irritation), and they certainly arent strong enough to make me want to be a smoker again!

Smokers! What pitiful and desperate creatures they are. I cant beleive I subjected myself to that life for 17 years.

Hiya Bf109 and congratulations on that first great milestone!!! :T I bet you feel SOOO very proud, you should too as you're doing so very well. Those "I'd like a fag" moments will very soon fade away altogether, I promise you! Keep that resolve and you'll soon have completely conquered it for good... not that you haven't already, because I'm quite convinced you have, but you know what I mean.

GREAT news nirelandguy! Welcome to the thread. I really do hope, for your sake, that this will be the time you'll succeed and very soon become a non-smoker for good! Your Doctor is right as you really will feel a totally different guy when you're through with all that muck and rubbish we all got from that vile stuff.

All the very best and keep chatting to us, and - keep strong!

Well I don't know if this is normal, but I had the worst nights sleep I have ever had, I saw every half hour on that clock, and all I could think of was smoking, I gave in and had a smoke, I mean attempt over before it has even started, Why is this so bloody hard? I am going to go a different route, I noticed in the litterature that came with my microtabs that there is 2 ways to quit, the first being quitting cigarettes all together and going on these microtabs, the second is reduce cigarettes gradually, so I think I might go that route, simply stopping is not working for me.

Well we are off the ball here at last :) Took me long enough :) But I had a smoke at 5.30 this morning and have not had 1 since, I take a microtab every hour and all is not to bad at all, certainly not as bad as I imagined it would be. Does it get worse???

Ok, Tommorow I attempt again, New Month, New Season, New You as my doctor put it, This time I am on these Microtabs, anyone any experience with these? I tried one the other night just to see what they where like, They sickened, me big time, you know the feeling you would get if you smoked to many cigarettes in a row, you just feel sickened, Didn't feel like a smoke after I had that, but typical me perservered.

Well done nirelandguy!!! :T I never expected to see that, not after your 5 am post, but you're well on your way now. I don't think you'll find it'll get any worse for you as, all too often, it's the thought of quitting that is the most terrifying and then when we actually cease it's not half as bad as all those thoughts that went racing through our heads before. Sometimes quitting can disrupt sleep a bit, though that may also be the pills doing so, but don't stop taking them just persevere and see how things go. As Lula so rightly says, you're on the best journey of your life and the destination is beautiful!!! :D Deep breathing and plenty of water NI Guy and keep determined that you WILL crack this!

Surely not 9 weeks is it Lula?! ;) You're still on cloud 9 I see and I don't blame you, what a great feeling it is.

Hi Buttercup and a warm welcome to the thread. We certainly do wish you luck, though as I've said above to nirelandguy, it's the thinking about it all before you quit that's by far the worst of it all. Take note of the PM I've sent and come on here to rant and rave whenever you wish, though very soon you just may be smiling all the way and tickled pink at your successes like Lula!

All the very best and keep yourself strong!

Buttercup best of luck you can do this!! Well 24hrs over me and I feeling pretty fine, I had a dream about smoking lastnight, but rather than waking up wanting a smoke, I woke up thinking, I hope I haven't had a smoke and then the relief when I discovered it was a dream..

    Brilliant nirelandguy :)
Well done so far, take it one day at a time - beware around week 2/3 tho - not the best time to 'just try one', many peeps forget how strong the evil nicotina is ! A few peeps have succumbed around this time, forewarned is forearmed & all that ;).
