Ooooh hello everyone I'm so excited :j so many faces back :D

    Honeypie -
great to hear from you, did wonder where you'd gone  & so glad you're still doing great. Re - the weight :( yeh, I'm suffering that too but from previous experience it WILL come off again when your body readjusts, so dont be downhearted just keep excercising & remind yourself that a few extra pounds is way less harmful than the evil nicotina

    Lewki & Wannabe -
so glad you're both back too :D , I had a feeling we hadnt seen the last of you rascals :p & it's great that you're already back on the wagon.

Shadydaz - glad you're getting those extra pounds too , well done to you & mrs Shadydaz :D

Lauriejeanette & Dolally - welcome to thread & well done on your achievements so far :D

    Everyone -

Guess what I did today :o had a couple of puffs of a friends cig  BUT dont worry cos I immediately felt a bit green & half an hour later was heaving in the bathroom  it literally made me sick :o . I dont regret trying it out cos there has been a bit of nagging curiosity in my brain for the last couple of days & I've now quelled that once & for all. I HATE throwing up more than any other human 'ailment' & I had to lie down for an hour & it took me about 3 hours (& a bar of galaxy :p ) to get over it. As soon as I felt ok again I just felt so lucky that I will NEVER have to do that to myself again.

Dont be cross please Sue - it really was just curiosity as to how it would taste/feel & react with my body. I thought it would taste vile but had no idea how violent the reaction would be so... there's a very good example to everyone as to how toxic that stuff is.

Ugh, sorry gotta go, starting to gag just thinking about it .

Can I just ask of other people - when did the urge to smoke finally abate?

Every now and then I get the urge to smoke. Not bad or anything - just niggling.

When does this go away? Its damned irritating!

Hi BF109. I'd imagine from my own experience and from what others have said here that it varies person to person. Many here have said, such as Daz, that it hasn't affected them much after 3 or 4 days. I found it went on for a fair while, but the cravings got less and less with each day. I also found that although I still had some cravings, they were very quick to pass off again.

I have to admit to scoffing when Dr Chris Steele said on TV that they would soon become fleeting, but he was most certainly right and I was quite surprised at how fast they went off. So don't be surprised if you're still having cravings, do as Daz says he dies, take deep breaths and transport yourself to somewhere beautiful and concentrate hard on all you know that place holds for you. Keep on having a glass of water at those times too ~ not food! Though you may find the kiddies lollies help you as they last a good while.

Whatever you do and geel BF109, don't cave in now as you've come SO far. Keep thinking of the great good it's doing your health and keep on putting away the money you've saved as a real incentive. You CAN do it and the real cravings won't bother you for much longer, you'll find elation taking over from them!

Good luck and keep STRONG!!! :D
