    Hi Everyone,

I was on this thread a good while back now.... Its been 3 calander months today since I had a cigarette!!... so pleased with myself!!!

I am heavier than I want to be tho..... and am finding it really hard to shift the weight - even doing a strict diet I am gaining an average of 1lb per week!!! - my body must be well freaked out lol !!!

Anyone else experienced this?, and any ideas what I can do to speed up the old metabolism ??

    Thanks, and Good Luck everyone.....

Hi Sue, thank you for your warm welcome. I can't beleive how much better I feel, and thats just after 6 days! I'm finding it so easy whereas before, I always failed.
I've got an appointment for the smoking clinic to check my Carbon Monoxide levels, so quiet proud that it will be 1!
Will keep in touch, bye for now. :)

  • Hi,

Some of you might remember me as wally who fell off the wagon, but I am back and back in force this time determined to suceed on not slip off the edge again. So day one here we go again, im so sill would have been 3 months this week!! Just restarted my quit meter so off we jolly well go again! Did a whole week on holiday but as soon as I got back I started again how daft am I!! Sure I can do it.... Will be on here quite a lot I tend to ramble when I feel the need to smoke.

Thanks for the help feel better already :o

    Hi,

I have been smoke free for one month. I have definitely gained weight though so I must now diet!!

For those thinking of giving up, I say go for it! The first fortnight is tough but I think the thought of giving up was worse than the reality!!

I used patches for a week and then willpower and I was a heavy long term smoker with a history of failed attempts so am very chuffed with myself!!

Good luck to everyone and have a drink on me (I can afford it now I don't waste money on fags!!)

Hi all. I have not posted for ages. 2 reasons, firstly I fell off the band wagon (Wanna - cant believe you are back on here at exactly the same time as me!!) and the second reason is because I have been on hols for a couple of weeks.

The good news though is that I have been smoke free (again) since 2nd August, 2 and a bit weeks. I am going to keep posting on here to keep me motivated.
  • Lewki thats just really really freaky. I am counting today as my first day even though I didn't smoke on holiday but have had a few well several since I have been back. How did I go on holiday and not smoke??? oh well just proves I can do it.

    See you around
