    Meh. Terrible day at work.

Must be strong though - cant go running for the nicotine shelter everytime the going gets tough.

    Well how about this :

Smoking ban to trigger rise in house fires

Over 900,000* households will be at increased risk of fire following the public smoking ban, as smokers stay home to indulge their habit.
New research from Direct Line Home Insurance reveals that one in ten smokers (11 per cent) say they will be forced to smoke at home**, resulting in an additional 16 million cigarettes smoked indoors every week***.
Cigarettes are the number one cause of accidental fatal fires in the home, causing 60 house fires a week****. The estimated increase in smoking at home will result in an additional 100 house fires a year***** - according to Direct Line.

I'm fast approaching 7 weeks & pretty damn chuffed with myself. I'm not happy about the extra weight but have been trying hard to learn to drink wine without a cigarette & it's been tough but I can assure you that I'm very accomplished now :D

wishing you a happy next 6 months too

Many congratulations on a FANTASTIC achievement AB!!!:T The rate at which that's gone by you'll soon be have your first year behind you! I bet you find a heck of a difference with exercise etc; and your health will be so very much better. I hope many others see your post and realise that it really CAN be done! All the best for the next 6 months AB!

    Sue

Well done Lula! Keep it all going, you're doing brilliantly so far. Step up the exercise and drink plenty of water as well as eating fresh fruit and veg sticks when you're peckish. If you can beat the fags then I'm sure your weight will come good in time too!

Good luck to everyone, keep up the quitting!

Hi, I'm new to this post and hoping to stop smoking. I came back from holiday four weeks ago with duty frees and discovered that when i'm not buying ciggies everyday I don't go to the cashpoint as much (its taken me 15 years of smoking to discover this!!!) Anyhow i've decided to take the plunge when my last pack of duty frees are finished which will be Tuesday. Gonna try cold turkey and see how I go, i am worried about weight gain tho'.

So wish me luck and any tips gratefully accepted!!
Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it :D

Hi again AB. Strewth, I hope that hasn't happened to MFD, surely not she was far too committed. I haven't seen her anywhere on the Forums  since her last success - 3 months achieved if memory serves me correct. Fingers crossed she'll turn up again any day now AB :(

    Sue

Good to see you and hear of your continued success YM :T

Hi and welcome dixie06! So pleased to read of your determination in quitting. All the very best of luck and take each day as it comes...though you may well find it easier than you'd thought once you really make that firm commitment to yourself. We've had so many success stories here and ageing biker (AB) above is just one of them. I'll PM you with a few tips, slimming ones too, though if you look at a post of mine from a couple of days ago on the previous page, it gives plenty of help there.

    Every best wish.
