Been over 3 months but I'm struggling now! My boyfriend finished with me, it all hit the fan last night and he's gone now. Don't know if I can keep this up!
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

Of course you can Drea, looking at it logically, regardless of what you want out of the situation, will having a smoke make it better? Will it cheer you up or will you feel even worse after three months of hard work?

Try and keep yourself focused on not smoking, you'll regret starting again if you give in now, I'm not very good at relationship advice so I'll not even try, I'll just offer you hugs and a dodgy smiley :grouphug:

Katie I’d agree with Bubbles0169, Champix does a great job of blocking out the craving, after just over a week you’ll not be wanting to smoke as much and you can stop. I did it three months ago and I haven’t looked back!

As for you Bubbles you’re doing really well, the first few days are the most difficult I found, you have yourself convinced that you miss smoking when in reality it’s just the habit of smoking that you miss. Keep up the good work and stick at it!
  • A quick hello to everyone.:hello:

As you can tell by my username I am an ex-smoker. I have been smoke free for 3 and a half months now. :T

I went for hypnotherapy and it worked for me, my OH was a smoker as well and he never really believed in all that so he said if it worked for me he would give it a try also. He was so shocked when I came out and didn’t feel the urge for a fag, even when he was smoking around me and offered me one, when I refused, that same day he booked an appointment for the hyponotherapist! :rotfl:

Suffice to say he also is now an ex-smoker (1 week less than me). Anyway, that’s my story, it’s the best £250 I ever spent (the guy I went to offered a money-back guarantee that if he didn’t ‘cure’ you, he gives you 2 more sessions for free and if it still doesn’t work you get your cash back) and just wanted to offer some support and hugs for anyone who is in the process of stopping or even thinking about giving up. :grouphug:

When I was at that stage I used to pick up my phone and compose a text message when I got a craving, I just kept typing rubbish until the urge went away and then discarded the message! It kept my hands and brain busy and it also meant I wasn't ranting and raving at every turnaround!

You'll get there though, just keep plugging away and you'll be fine!
