Just a quick update, still getting horrible headaches (though not lasting as long now, hoping they will be gone completely soon), and still more short-tempered than usual, BUT...

6 Days, 23 Hours, 59 Mins and 49 Seconds Smoke Free so far :j

I have saved £40.38, (well treated the kids to a game for the Wii, felt so guilty for being so short tempered!!!), and I have not smoked 175 ciggies, way hey!

Well done everyone, will update you all again in a day or two, good luck to everyone over th weekend, this is the longest I have ever gone without smoking, and I am feeling pretty positive that I can actually do it this time :T

  • Evening all. I had my last ciggie at 6am yesterdy morning. I went all day yesterday right through to this morning feeling great and then this morning I really lost my rag with the kids and hubby (and i mean really). Went to work feeling awful. How do you cope with the moods? i felt so low and I don't know why.
mind you i still haven't had a fag!

Brilliant news Marjem!!! :T I had wondered how you were going and now to hear you've gone a week already is GREAT news and all credit to you! I was pleased to hear you're getting so much benefit from the orange juice, it helped me a lot as did water which I gulped back as soon as a craving came along. Take no notice of those that you tell and don't give you the response you really hope for - even my mother told my hubby I'd never succeed!!! You guessed it....she was a smoker!!! You may see it as a 'bad side' at times, but keep up with the 'good side' and use it to prove the bu----s wrong! Be proud of yourself, you deserve to be!

I hope it worked out ok wanna and that you've topped your 2 weeks 4 days (5 now?) and wouldn't it be great if you set a good example for your friend in time!

Try drinking far more water happymumof3 as that alone will help headaches, though I think yours must be caused by the pills as they're a known side-effect, so more water could well help. Keep up the great work as 7 days (now) is a week and that is fantastic news! Don't worry too much about your kiddies, though the game was a great idea as a "forgive me" gift. Keep explaining to them that it's not really you, but that you need their help. They'll certainly forgive you at the end of it all.

Naughty, naughty :naughty:iwanttosavemoney2008! :)Not to worry though as that'll do no good, get back on the wagon and try to keep temptation at bay, you know you can do it! *With regards to hubby's cyban*, DON'T take it as I googled it and it says here (read down the page) that you shouldn't if breast-feeding. Keep strong and be proud of how far you've gone already, not ashamed at one blip!

Hi i am really rich!! it's good to see you here and quitting! A shame you 'lost it' as you did, but try to leave that behind and move on. You're feeling low as quitting at first feels like you've said goodbye to an old friend, a bit like grieving and it takes a few days to lose the feeling, but with luck, after the first 2 or 3 days you'll start to get elated at your achievements. If you get moody, and it's possible, then go for a good stomp (walk) round the block...further if possible. Belting up and down the stairs hard, punching a pillow anything similar will help you through the moods, just remember they won't last long. Explain it to the family and ask for their love and support. Good luck and stay quit!

Have a great non-smoking weekend full fresh air folks and be strong!

    Sue

  • ok i am now 11 hours without a cig granted i have been asleep for most of that but i dont care.

I am currently writting this to keep my fingers busy so i dont go next door and ask to borrow a cig i am feeling very ineedacig like and i dont want to give in so early in the challenge (or at all).

I keep thinking i could just have one of my hubbys roll ups no one would know do u know what i mean?

after this post i will go wash some pots (they aren't dirty but if my hands are busy AND wet then they can't hold a cig) I will then be back on to post this next hour i think if i've got to account for mu cig times then the best place will be on here so sorry you will get sick of seeing my posts today but its just something i've got to do

ps if i'm dont get on on the hour it cos one of my kids want me or need me but i will be totally honest and let you all know if i slip (which i wont) or how my hubby is taunting me with his smoking dont worry hes in bed at the moment he was working last night.

    thanks for letting me ramble

    heres to the next hour

Brilliant feedumall, you really are doing so very well and I'll bet you're as proud as you can be, you certainly should be! £410 not spent on cigs as well as 1,620 cigs not smoked is amazing!:T

feedum is so right with all she says above iwanttosavemoney2008, try asking your hubby for his support and explain how he's hurting you by keeping on mocking. It is so mean. Keep on the board as often as you can ..... anything that'll help you whilst you're craving them. Don't forget plenty of water, orange juice too...and think of the savings...keep what you save in a pot and keep looking at it, but most of all - think of your health! :D Good luck.

    *sigh*

I bought a packet of fags yesterday. Stressful day.

Back to the grindstone on Monday. I've only had a few though. I haven't gone right back to the 20 a day so at least there is something positive.
