Hi Hawthorn,
Sorry to hear that, but the headache can often be as a result of quitting, often the stress of it all to I'm inclined to think. The sleeplessness is definately all part of quitting and will soon pass - I promise you!
Are you on the patches? Sorry, I can't remember at the mo, but if you are then the itching could be due to them, or any other of the quitting formulas. If you're going 'cold turkey' then it could simply be all to do with just quitting and stress.
Ride the storm Hawthorn, you're in the infancy (so to speak) of it all and your body is getting used to a really big change. This will all be short-lived, the benefits will be life-changing and last the rest of your life!
Resist and keep strong! Try a bath/shower and relax then have a drinking chocolate.
All the best.

you are naughty naomi, dont think about the money saving side of not smoking as you wont quit, you must really want to quit for yourself, I dont know if anyone else thought this but for me it was right im approaching my fifties and I want to do everything I can to live as long as poss, so the fags had to go, I dont know how old you are, I presume much younger and I never thought about it in this way before, I feel so much better for it and wish I'd done it years ago, any other half centurians feel this waysmoke free since 16 feb 080

To be honest Ageing Biker I have wanted to quit properly since January. I was getting so frustrated with myself as I knew I could do it but seemed to have lost the willpower. I went the to Allen Carr Easyway clinic 3 times between Feb - May and tried patches (a bit half hearted on that one). Somehow though, something just seems to have shifted (I think) and I know I can do it. I feel the financial pressure being there does help even if it is only a little bit but as you say, you have to want to quit too.
No doubt I'll be posting on here when the cravings are bad!
