    Wow. didn't expect this.

    3AM and can't sleep.

I was doing OK today till I worked out (As you do) that I have smoked for 2/3 of my life and that to get to a 50/50 state I would need to remain 'Stopped' till I'm 72 Years old!

Still it's been 36 hours now.

Thanks for the kind pm Sue UU. Well timed bit of help.

    xx

    Well done you!

Is Rizla as a user name connected to the evil habit perchance? ;)

Good luck with it. I know you can do it! I'm currently coming off Citalopram, as well as the tobacco. Anti d's suck, huh?

    Happymumof3, how are you doing?

    Hi Hawthorn.

Just read back a bit and noticed that you have been having a bit of a bad time of it.

Well, I've gone past 48 Hrs now and it's certainly no easier but that'll pass, I'm sure.

I know only one thing and that is that I am going to miss my friend dearly but we all got to go sometime. Two days ago his time was up.

How are you coping now? No setbacks I hope. Are you feeling good inside yourself or still feeling like !!!!!!?

Resist even ONE drag. It'll be a terrible mistake if you don't.

    I'm feeling ok thanks.

I did have a drag or two off a roll up *blushes*
Back to it tomorrow though - my hub is off back to work so I won't have that option LOL.
Still haven't bought a packet though.
I'm having some not good withdrawal symptoms from the meds. My stomach is off, and my face feels like it's melting. I didn't realise I'd get them this bad from Citalopram. It's just as bad as coming off the effexor. It has it's bonuses though - I'm too busy feeling like crap coming off those to worry about smoking LOL.
Also, full of cold. I'm sick of sneezing. Leastways, I think it's a cold and not because of stopping smoking.
You are doing really well :) Two days free......and counting!
Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

According to my little timer, I have now managed 2days, 14mins and 21scs without cigarettes! YAY!

Am finding it quite hard at times, had another stinker of a headache earlier and had to retreat to bed for an hour before cooking dinner... has passed again now though. Not sure if it is due to the withdrawl from nicotine, or a side effect of the patches???

But feeling very positive, and am determined to continue with not smoking :)

Keep it up everyone, we are doing great!

    Many congratulations IDA!!!!! :T

We're both living proof that it IS possible to break the habit and get through it. I'm sure they'll all soon be on this side of the bridge soon enough and ho, how proud they'll be.

Put the few drags down to a blip Hawthorn and push on ahead from here on, you're still doing well regardless, so well done! I think the feeling as though you have a cold could well be due the quitting, so don't worry about that too much. However, do be careful with the other symptoms you're having as it certainly sounds as though they're coming from the Citalopram. Check with your Dr or Pharmacist if it gets worse, or if it stays the same.

Same for you with the headache happymumof3, keep a check on it, though it could be to quitting - or stressing about it all. You sound so very positive though and that alone is great! Keep it up and keep strong! Riz too!

Well done all, beginning of another week now.

    All the best to ALL.

Morning all. Great weekend away with the family - they are all non smokers so it was no problem (Although I did get sand in my patch lol)

Feeling good, I am 2 weeks in today (Not counting my blip of last Saturday night!)

Great that there are even more peeps now :) I still need this virtual community to help me. I have also found that my stress about my debt has reduced massively over the past month since I found MSE. Everything is manageable and the future looks good. Down side is....my nose is sunburnt lol
  • Morning everyone - so many new names (and some old names lurking around I see :D )

    Today is my THREE-MONTHIVERSARY :T

For anyone starting out, believe me it does get easier and you will feel better for it. The temptation will always be there for me but I have not slipped once (I know if I did then I would be on the slippery slope)

I have never felt so free :D
