  • Hi Guys,

You have got your hands full Hawthorn sounds like a very loud place to be, but its got to be better than the dull office.

Lewki the girl I gave up with in the office started again, think it must have been because she didn't have the pressure of the virtual telling off (which is a very good thing). :rotfl:

Don't seem to be thinking about smoking quite as much, but I must be or I wouldn't still be checking on here and posting! The worst time I have found when I finished doing everything (well as much as I can be bothered to do) at night when I sit down to watch a bit of TV or something, its like a relaxing thing??????

The other thing i'm having a problem with is that Im still skint so where on earth did I find the money to smoke in the first place? Still not got tons of cash laying around and you would have thought there should be but there isn't where did it come from?

I know what you mean Wanna....
I used to buy mine using my bank or credit card. I have not seen more cash floating around but my CC bill will be almost £0 next month (I have 2 cc. 1 I use for my business expenses plus a few bits - I pay that off in full each month and the 2nd is my new shiny 0% from Virgin - thats holds all my debt!!)
I have spent next to nothing for the past 2 weeks :)
I have probaly "saved" enough for this weekends camping trip :)
  • I have a problem coming up which will test me to my limits. My partner, who is a smoker, has been away on duty (he is in the Navy). He is due to come back on Sunday. He knows i am trying my best to give up but he told me he has bought 1000 cigs duty free. We only have one room designated for smoking in our house which is not the living room or kitchen but a little side room off the kitchen which helps a little, but i know i will be able to smell the delicious aroma of benson & hedges wafting up my nose every so often. And, to know there are 1000  cigs in the house is going to be so hard for me to resist. My partner sees me as a bit of a joke when i say im giving up because i have said it so many times before and never actually get past the first couple of hours :o . I really want to do this and prove i can do it, but the temptation is going to be awful. He does not want to stop smoking at the moment so i cant suggest this. I think also i have bored him by constantly emailing him on a daily basis telling him im on day 1, day 2, day 3 etc etc. He actually told me today that im always going on about it!! I thought he would be a bit more supportive but i guess not. Im just proud of myself and wanted him to be proud is all! Anyway, apart from moving out I really need all the willpower i can get in a few days time. Wish me luck!

a friend of mine got the paul mckenna stop smoking audio cd and book. He can't even put a cigarette (unlit) near his mouth! He heaves, seriously. I don't know what it did, but it might be worth looking into if you feel you need a bit 'extra'?

Get a still smoking friend to half fill a jam jar with cigarette butts. When you get a craving, have a sniff of them, it satisfies the urge and disgusts at the same time!

A good reminder of the truth about those little brown and white sticks.

Yeah, I could see why that might work LOL. Or half fill it with water and drop a few butts in. See all the crud come out of them into the water. Yeuck.

Ok. My husband is at work. My eleven and thirteen year old are refusing to sleep. My head is spinning and my gut is off (medication withdrawals) I have a bunged up nose and a hacking cough.

Tell me why I'm doing this?

It's not a physical craving I'm after. More the pleasure of sitting down with a fag in the fresh air and watching the world go by. I can't go and sit down outside anyway, because I've found that does spark a physical craving.

My heart is pounding, I want to sleep but can't, and I feel all grrrrrrraaaaaaaaaargh.
