The Giving Up Smoking Thread!!

Wow Lewki - you have impressed me today. Well done and keep rubbing your patch! :j
Ok, I am now committing myself to the no smoking group. I will start tomorrow with a clean slate. Which means that I will save £22.64 this week.
After my post on Friday, this is a new beginning for me. I feel that I can "talk" here.
The downer is that I may be grumpy and ranty tomorrow. I will do my best to not be like that because I think my head will really explode!0 -

Then come on here to rant! I think as a group, we understand more than anyone and will help and support
:A :dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Thanks TNG.
The funny thing that I am grumpy about at the moment is that I made a list for my shopping on Saturday, stuck to the list (a first) and miffed that they only had big bags of carrots which I needed and thought I could make soup and carrot cake, etc, etc.
Typically my budget was over exactly by the amount of the bag for carrots!
OK - I now have that out of my system

I will
Or I may have to bring them in to work tomorrow to hold instead of a cigarette

I tried using patches before but ended up smoking more when I started again (whoops). Trying the gum this time don't think I could do cold turkey may end up murdering someone... The gum is quite good, I can have a bit when I feel like smoking so its the same sort of thing ish.
Had to come back on here, should be working really but its nearly 3.30 (has stopped raining here though Lewki). Not going to see what its like out there though.0 -
In my feeble attempts to stop in the past I didn't like the gum.
However, I have the microtabs and have used them in the last day or two instead of a cigarette and they are good. So I am using them from tomorrow.
And my carrots of course.
I may have to change my name to the Carrot Queen  :rotfl:
I doubt you can use patches and other substitutes?0 -
My last attempt to stop was very feeble and very badly timed, would have been 6 weeks on Christmas day, had we not have gone out for the drunken works do the week before, patch came off cigs came from a vending machine so even more expensive than normal.
Could have been worse though I know someone who used to wear patches then take them off to have a smoke and put them back on again. :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good night tonight, I planning some furniture moving should keep me occupied for a wee while.0 -
The other thing I have been pondering is how do I get rid of the hideous brown bits on my teeth now! Not sure carrots would work0
