I could cycle and roller skate and swim with ease, and even when I did get out of breath it was just 'being out of breath' rather than that horrible burning sensation that you get in the back of your throat and your lungs when you are a smoker.
I feel so free :j
You will stop thinking about smoking (for most of the time anyway - there will always be a whistful little hankering for a long lost 'friend') and when you do you will be as free as I am.
Now, that's what I'm talking about!!
Congrats MFD and to all other newbies, oldies and lurkers reaching a milestone today, whether it be 10 weeks, 10 days or 10 hours!

You will be free when your subconcious brain breaks that link. When that will happen is not quantifiable.
Therefore, my personal belief is that the more you read, the more the brain will take in and help to break that link.
Hi TNG,
That's an interesting analysis.:T I've been trying to do something similar by breaking the link between having a cigarette and thinking of it as a pleasurable experience.
When I get a craving now, instead of resenting not being able to have a smoke I conjure up the mental image of a diseased lung, or a gangrenous limb. I think it is very slowly starting to work. I've just been to fill the car up with petrol, and I wasn't in the least tempted to buy a pack when I went to pay for the petrol.
I had my last cigerette at approx 2pm on 6th May; that's 3 weeks today for me.:j :j :j
Here's to another smoke free day to one and all.

19 weeks and 1 day without a fag:T - longest Ive ever been smoke free since I was about 11.:o
I dont ever want to smoke again but I still do have " I dont half fancy a fag" moments. Not cravings just a fancy of a smoke. But then I smell a smoker and thats enough to put me back on the straight and narrow.
Hubby and I were away for the weekend and it was lovely booking a "non smoking" room (In Eire you can still smoke in hotel bedrooms) and being able to drive 500 miles without having to keep finding a lay bye to pull over and have a smoke.:D
Have got ourselves bikes and are having great fun getting out and about on those - legs wear out quicker then our breaths
One massive side effect is Im becoming one of those reformed smokers I swore Id never beIm wrinkling my nose in disgust when I smell a smoker and I send out evil vibes to any poor smoker whos smoke comes my way:(
Well done everyone :T:T:T:T:T:T:T0
