    Hi TNG,

That's an interesting analysis.:T I've been trying to do something similar by breaking the link between having a cigarette and thinking of it as a pleasurable experience.

When I get a craving now, instead of resenting not being able to have a smoke I conjure up the mental image of a diseased lung, or a gangrenous limb. I think it is very slowly starting to work. I've just been to fill the car up with petrol, and I wasn't in the least tempted to buy a pack when I went to pay for the petrol.

    Very similar, Richard. Spot on!!!!

Hello & welcome to Grillmonkey :hello:

Like Feedumall says we definitely are the best thread gang (not to be confused with chaingang although sometimes we feel like we are on one) around.

Foxy - it is your right as an ex smoker to be a tad crabby ( or b*tch troll from hell as the b/f now calls me ) it's just your body's way of releasing all the demons And correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt your o/h giving up too ? If o/h not given up then just ask for patience & forgiveness & suggest that her giving up too will mean she gets to be vile & crabby back :p . Otherwise well done, you really are facing up to all sorts of temptations & still resisting.

    Shinyhead - that's fantastic going, what a star :D

Feedie, I'm so glad that you dont feel you 'need' to be here anymore & even more glad that you refuse to go :A. Your garden retreat sounds perfect, I'm trying to create a 'space' space in mine that will replace the smoking space I once had :D .

Well done to everyone for achieving another day, we really are brilliant :j

good morning everyone! Another smoke free day is here. Yesterday was the easiest day by far. Funny that after the horrid weekend, maybe it was the being inside due to rubbish weather just watching tv and not really doing much which made me want to smoke and aggitated. Especially as friday night and sat day time i was surrounded by smokers! When at work i am fine.

The OH gve in after a week, stopped for another 3 days then started again. She isn't allowed to smoke in the car or the apartment so she isn't smoking at the evenings.

Little Pickle - One month anniv soon! well done to you and keep it up :)
Lula - how longs it been now? you coping well?
    Honey- how are you tody?
  • Hi everyone - we have another tangle promotion you may like - we have 1000 tangles to dispatch which we are just charging £1 for BUT the whole £1 is being donated to www.ITSchoolsAfrica.org project so not only can you use your tangle to help gve up smoking or generally fiddling BUT you will be doing something worthwhile too to help in Ghana.

To get yours either order online at www.thetangleshop.co.uk and go to the shop and scroll down to the last item in the shop and order there or call us on 01386 841700.

Good luck and get yours now!

I'll have to update the links on the first post when I get a chance, cos I just checked out to see if the Niquitin's free twisters link was still working and it didn't recognise my text, so that will have to be removed.

Also Max Kirstens video doesn't seem to be on his website anymore which is really disappointing, I'm going to have to find some new ghastly things to watch! I'll do it later when I get a chance.
