JFox & Richard - Hmmm I want one, I want one, I want one

Richard - You know that couple smell like a pair of hobos just as much as I do. If you ever went into a betting shop in the days before the entire country became smoke free you know the smell I'm talking about- it's vile but dont you reckon they should be allowed to keep one in every town so that we trying to be ex smokers can pop in for a deep breath & then gag & go on our merry smoke free way ?

I'm still not enjoying my coffee as much as I used to & seriously considering buying 10 & smoking them over the next few days & then quitting again as of 1st June just so it's a date I'll remember. Anyone want to talk me out of it ?

You boy are so far ahead it would be scandalous to give in to the wily & cunning adversary now, what are you man or mouse ? :p

I'll be back later, gotta go chew some furniture or beat apillow to death

    Hi Lula,

Sorry it's late, but don't do it you muppet;:p:p you'll regret it as soon as you light up; ditch the coffee.:eek:

I'd willingly admit to being a mouse if I could have just one little drag; Nooooooooo, I will not succumb.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Nearly posted here about 3/4 times today - lol, it ended up kinda self-indulgent cr*p.

Just to say I went cold turkey yesterday - about this time - so 1 whole day - weird huh, this journey away from cigs, off-balance, rush of what feels like blood down my forearms, loads of other strange new experiences - but - the bit that really gets me (so far) is this "other person" inside my head, who keeps deciding we are off to the shops just to buy the cigs we always buy - it's like trying to take back the controls of a plane from the auto-pilot.

So far so good, but weird huh?

    MF,

I went cold turkey and that's just how it got me. I'm sure I was walking around arguing with myself.:eek:And then when I got home, I had tea and went straight to bed; away from the whisky bottle, conversation, temptation; just a good book and then a restless sleep, but after 3-4 days it started to get easier; only whispering to myself by then.:D:D

    Good afternoon all,

    :j I thought I was making real progress yesterday.:j

I was sat in the car waiting to pick my O.H up from work, and a couple walked past smoking;  for the first time it looked disgusting and I wasn't in the least envious.:T :T

Today,  I can't get the thought of having a smoke out of my stupid mind.

    Hi Richard,

    I bet yesterday was a great feeling:p ...

MF - your certainly not alone... I am using tablets as an aid to quit, and I was having full on convos in my own head for at least 3-4 days!!. Its a bizzare feeling... and when the arguments start in your head - wow!!!... its time to get outta there!.

Good Luck with you quit, and welcome to the MSE non smoking club

    Hey everyone,

I know you're all safely tucked up in bed but I cant sleep so just thought I'd pop in to say thanks to you all for the talking to, it worked.

Not sure whether it was Feedie's chocolate muffin & doughnut :D , Richard calling me a muppet :rotfl: , Honeypie admitting to still liking smoking ( i do too :o ) or Jfox getting right to the psychological core ; I would sooo miss you all .

Tough day yesterday - finished work by 12.30, DD at boot( I mean sports) camp until 4.00, weather vile so couldnt go potter in garden, no money to shop with & ex b/f kept ringing & blatantly smoking loudly down the phone while asking how Im doing with quitting  .

couldnt have done it without you all

bring on thursday ;) I'm ready
