sunnyteacake,
stick that patch on & remind yourself that you are doing this because you want to be free. You're not 'giving up' anything you're making changes.
I'm not really counting the hours / days / weeks etc because to me that just reminds me that I've 'been without' for a certain length of time which makes me fell deprived, but we're all different & you will find out what works best for you.
Ever broken up with someone - friend or o/h - because you knew deep inside that thing just wouldnt work out ? You may have felt a bit lost & unsure like something was missing at first but now when you look back on it you know that change had to be made in order for you to move on.
Keep posting, 2 hands typing means no hands smoking. Doltage set me a task to write a list of the pros & cons of smoking & I STILL havent come up with any pro that isnt utterly ridiculous. Honestly I've tried them all : My friends smoke - hmmm I'm not really 16 any more give or take 20 years,
It makes me stay slim - hmmm so does exercising & not piggin out,
If you have a fiver handy then set fire to it as advised by Feedumall or join the chant :
We can do it, we can, we can, we can
We will do it, we will, we will, we will

Good on you all for trying to give it up, i gave up 4 years ago, i went to hynotherapy and i really, really recommend it, i had smoked for 15 years @ 40 per day and i gave up just like that, the daft thing was i went not actually wanting to give up.
I still have cravings now but they last all of about a second, remember the craving times get less and less each day.
I know look and cigerettes now and i cant understand why i smoked in the first place, they dont actually do anything for you.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

Hi ... I am just finishing day 2 - and yep, this ain't easy - and, lol, I've just apologised on a thread for posting so much - but it's keeping my brain and hands active.
Got a great PM from one of the members - and it tells me lol, that days 3 and 4 are the worst - but that for me is what this is all about - just stopping and what ever then happens - just happens - I knew breaking a habit of a lifetime was not going to be easy - but bring it on!
PS: Some of that bravado is me encouraging myself
*EDIT* - ALL of that bravado is!!!!If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.
