mf i was fasinated how my brain reacted when deprived of nicotine,i know you are not using any quitting aids but get some sour sweets ,and when you want a ciggy put two in your mouth, your brain can't cope and you lose craving:D .great how the habit is so ingrained you automatically reach for ciggys at trigger times ,after meals with morning coffee etc,i even bought a packet in my dreams and felt guilty what the:confused: .you use the bravado.i never told anyone i quit so had to keep smiling when i wanted to kill the world, that was fun:eek: .but working tiwards one month when i could tell them was great:D

^ Hi ... I work from home (doesn't help in this) and the number of times I "automatically" swing round in my chair to reach for the non-existent packet and lighter is amazing/frightenng - it's the auutomatic pilot thing I mentioned in an earlier post.

That for me so far is the worst part - that sudden sense/realisation that they are not there - it passes, but it is very real for the time that it lasts.

One of the things I am using - because I really really love it anyway - is fresh pineapple. I laid in 3 before I started, have just about demolished them all, and will be out tomorrow buying more.

I have also chosen a time when I can spend less time working and am spending part of the day - hill walking nearby - not a shop in sight.

    *EDIT*

    Light bulb moment!!!
Just back with a smile from ear to ear - and you will all instantly realise why. It suddenly dawned on me after posting the bit above - those 3 pineapples cost me less than £3.00 - measure that against the fags I haven't bought!!!

I only popped in to say I think I may have snaffled another newby whose just confessed to a very naughty £300 a month habit  I just left a quick note to say how much we would like them to join us. Is that wrong ? I can feel Doltage rustling up another detention for me :p

Aw, now you're making me feel like a big meanie ;)
I think, legally, if you help your friend to save 300 quid a month you're entitled to 50 quid a month from them  (Maybe I'd best delete that in case Jo1972 comes after us all looking for her cut of our savings:eek: )

Hope everyone has a great smoke free day, it should be the easiest day of the week as Friday's are the best day of the working week!

Feedumall a big :T :T :T congratulations :T :T :T to you on reaching two months, have a dodgy looking cuddle/hug :grouphug: I hope you are really proud of yourself. It's great to see you sticking it out here as well because it would be a shame not to see you on here supporting people through their first few days.
