Sunshine & warmth = perfect day not to smoke .

Puzzybubs - I think you need to feel proud that you've lasted 3 weeks, take note of what feedumall says - she speaks truth - & believe that all the negative feelings are just your silly brain playing tricks on you. I wish I had done 3 weeks, I'm told it takes 2 weeks to get into a new habit & 4 to get out of one, so you've only got a week left really. Keep it up & post whenever you feel demotivated / angry/ stressed etc...

Death-a-lot - How much money on fags :eek: I felt guilty for spending a tenner which could be paying off debts but you really need to have a good think about that, buy yourself a pack of nico-gum stuff & you can chew that while actually in the pub rather than having to hide outside behind the dustbins like a naughty schoolboy, most unbecoming .

Bandra - apart from the fact that feedie & i are insanely jealous that you are in india all I have to say is that your argument that smoking cheap fags is ok is like me saying that it's ok to be run over by a robin reliant but not ok to be run over by an aston martin. Really, that's a terrible excuse & i'm just not accepting it.:mad: Death is death whether its because you smoke cheap fags or expensive ones. I used to smoke those pretty sobranie cocktails & the black & gold ones & they were hideously expensive but I thought that was fine
because they were so attractive & made me look :cool: . Now I just feel at my shallowness & stupidity.

Approaching two years and I still a) can't believe that i've done it and b) can't believe how STUPID I was for smoking for all those years (two thirds of my ENTIRE life), convincing myself that I actually enjoyed it?

I do actually feel like I had been mugged for all those years. You know the feeliong you get when you've been had? That is why I keep coming back to this thread. I don't want ANYONE else to have that feeling.

I am going to become a stop smoking counsellor one day. I feel that strongly about it (not strongly enough to jeopardise the mortgage payments, just yet )

lula you are brilliant:T :T :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ,oh to be in india,but never mind smoke free in england will have to do:D .1,100 ciggs not smoked now that i am proud of 250 pounds not spent on ciggs:eek: think of the money i wasted ahhhhhhh,and about 160 pounds of that was tax:mad: .on the news today they are thinking of banning pks of 10 ciggs, and no ciggs to be on display in shops we quit just in time people.

Thanks for all the welcoming posts yesterday much appreciated.Well it's been 2 days 16hours 32mins since I last had a cig plus I've saved £19.:T Still staying with the gum for now tho for as well as making me feel sick it does actually stop me from wanting a cig lol Have also been to the gym tuesday and today - seems to help with my bad temper.
Hope everyone else is doing ok too

Hi, I am new to all this but just wanted to say that I gave up smoking about two years ago now after going to an Alan Car seminar type thingymajig. I think it worked for me because it cost a fair bit of money and I sort of looked at it as a last chance, as in, this has cost me £200 - if I don't give up now I never will!! I honestly never thought I would be able to give up but I don't miss it at all now. Makes me feel a bit pukey thinking about smoking a fag actually! Please don't throw anything at me x

Oh.My Goodness welcome! i watched his dvd and it has had a similat impact on me.
I am now into day 13! can't beleive it. before i know it will be a month hopefully! out with the boys tomorrow night as i said before and it will be the first big hurdle. i just hope i don't fall at it. i've put out going out to the pub until now but i can't stop socialising because i want to stop smoking!

Anyway, i hope everyone has had a smoke free day and is happy.

Lula - i literally bought some small animal shampoo, filled up a smal lbowl (but made sure she was tall enough so her head was always above the water) and tried to bath her. she really didn't like it but she still loves me which is good.

Thanks jfox22! I read his book first and although it make me think a bit it didn't giddy me up to quit quite like the day long thing did. You will be fine when you go out, I just kept remembering that everyone who smokes actually wants to me a non smoker deep down which made it easier when my so called friends were trying to give me a fag! They were just jealous and wanted me to fail! You will be a star I am sure and you will feel so proud afterwards too! Good luck x
