yeah Waspeze, thanks for doing that.

Richard stay strong, there will be bad days that will be followed by good days, the bad days will soon get easier and then it will feel like it never happened.

Well i am 28 mintues away from completing day 5!!! can't believe it. Today has been alot easier than yday. I'm currently having work done in my apartment and it all went wrong yday. I was so close to giving in and starting once the work had finished but like i said above, we all have bad days and good days will follow.

I hope everyone has had a smoke free good day, Heads up Richard. It will get better

    Good afternoon all,

Just into the beginning of day 10, and it's been another frustrating day. From waking up this morning all I've been able to think about is having a smoke.  I'm confident that I won't give in but it's bl00dy annoying that the urge doesn't seem to go away.

    Richard

    Hey there..

Well Done for being confident you wont give in :T :T . Your almost at the end of Day ten now... DAY TEN... Thats a long time for a ex smoker, so don't let the cravings win.. Perhaps have an early night - tommorrow will be easier... ;) .

(I know, I know... I am a fine one to talk!!..(sorry!). But I really am getting into this no smoking mindset ;) )

I'm really sorry but I gave in today :embarasse
Tripped up in one of those out with mates having a drink situations.....and tripped badly!
I feel awful having to tell you all as I feel like I've let everyone down as well as myself. However it seems silly to just give up and hide so I'm back to day 1 and I now have some NR gum in case of emergency. I'll go cold turkey again but at least if it gets too much I now have a backup plan!
I'm sorry- Richard and everyone else hope you've stayed stronger than me today!!

    Hi jfox,

Thanks for that, I know it will get easier, I was just expecting it to happen a bit quicker.:eek:

I didn't finish work until gone 8:30 this evening and it's not bothering me now, even after a bottle of wine; very cunning little demon.

Jellie, these things can happen. Don't let it defeat you. When you are ready try again.

As for me, day five has been the easiest so far. I stopped smoking the same time as my OH, so far she has been the stronger one except for tonight. I arrived home from work to find a nervous wreck. Like she got me through my low, i'm trying to get her through her low. We all hit the low at some point. I hope those who sometimes need a help in hand will always come onto this board where there are a few other people n the same situation and we can all help each other through the lows.

I am deliberately not going out for to a bar/pub this weekend so i don't have the urges to start that disgusting habbit again.

Has anyone else eaten an enormous amount of food since giving up smoking? aparently this is only temporary whilst your body adjusts :)

    Hi feedumall,

    :T:TI like that analogy.:T:T

Its definitely not got the strength of grip that it had, it's just the incessant nagging that's p1ssing me off.:mad:

    I'll keep on keeping on.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Thanks Foxy. It would help if I could get onto this forum at work. Another week and I'm off work for a week so can hopefully completely change my routines. I might have to join you in steering clear of the pub tomorrow night. I'll see how I'm feeling.
I appreciate the support- I'm alone at home so coming on here helps!!

    Hi Honey,:o:o

I'm sure it will get better as the weekend gets closer; I've never got anywhere close to 10 days before, and I'm desperate not to give in now.:rolleyes:

I'd feel a complete fraud, after all the support on this Thread and at home.:A:A

    Hi Jellie,

I don't see that as a failure; it's just a minor setback along the way. It's your state of mind and whether you're still determined to quit that really counts. I still don't think I'm at the point where I could say no if I was offered a cigarette, I'm just trying desperately to avoid people who smoke.
