Hello!!!
Well done to all! Richard... keep coming here and talking about your cravings... maybe then if you get it out of your system, you won't want to actually want a ciggie?
I'm still doing well... haven't had any cravings as such, just 'forget' sometimes and think.. 'right, ciggie time!' and then remember that I don't smoke!
today's stats:
12 days, 22 hours, 47 minutes and 59 seconds smoke free.
129 cigarettes not smoked.
£39.00 and 23 hours of your life saved.0 -
nice one little pickle! what are you going to do with the savings?0

Little Pickle - 12 Days is fantastic - well done :T :T
Jfox - I am not going cold turkey... I have done it before and keep going back to the fags... (I am obviously weak) only usually last 1-2 weeks then trick myself into thinking 1 a day is ok, then its 2, then before I know it, I am back up to the usual amount.. So this time I am trying Champix... I am still smoking - you need to let the champix get to work in your body before you quit... quit day will be sometime next week... actually quite looking forward to it..

LittlePickle you are a STAR, well done
.
HoneyPie you're just like me: "Oh yeh, been off them for a couple of weeks, just one wont hurt..... "
Waspeze thanks for the tip , as long as I save enough life to get to my debt free date I'll be happy. Hmmm that could be a good motivator actually.
Richard AVOID smokers at all costs. Remember I started the quit on 23rd April & was fine apart from the odd craving quelled by nicorette gum until the b/f stayed here & I had free access to his supply. 10 days smoke free down the pan. Let's face it guys - Other Peoples cigarettes arent real  in the same way that broken cookies have no calories
. Think that was your mantra Waspeze, love it.
Everyone, WE CAN DO IT, we can, we can, we can. Repeat this for the next 10 years & we should all be home free....

An update (day 3 ends) now i know why they say get rid of all the cigs! I'm having a major weak moment and all i want to do is pick up a cigarette! However i am remaining strong. This is the first weak moment of the day and its because im about to leave work (and usually when i leave work i smoke).
I'm officially onto day 4 now, i hope to be sleeping better tonight and with each day i know it will get easier. I just wish i never started in the first place.
Q. Why did you start smoking?
I started because i was stressed and was under the illusion it would help me.... how wrong i was.0 -
Hi All,
Well, im still "smober" i managed to cope at the pub last night, the silly putty came in very very handy and ended up making little shapes about three or four times.
Its funny, whenever i have quit before everyone has had very little faith in me and have nearly always said "wont last long" etc.
But this time its different, it might be that im looking at it differently but they are all being really supportive and just saying well done, or keep it up,
I am taking the advice of my Nana as well, im lucky to have her, she is like my mum. I remember her smoking up until i was about 15, when i was little i hated it and would go an hide her lighters and even throw her cigarettes away (much to her annoyance)
I would spout facts to her every time she lit up (every fag is 5 minutes of your life) etc etc, but when i was 12 1/2 i decided i wanted to smoke, i wanted to belong, its silly the reason i started smoking was to make myself the same as everyone else.
My nana found out i smoked and that was one of the things that made her quit, the shock that it may have been her influence that started me off and being poorley meant that over 10 years later she still has not had one cigarette, despite her partner smoking.
I told her tonight that i quit and she said she was proud of me (tear moment) she told me to take it one day at a time and that as long as i can go to bed knowing i did my best its fine.
Although she does tell me that for her, there are times that she would kill for a cigarette still, i guess it never leaves some people.
Sorry for the really long post, i tend to babble way too much.

Hi Puzzledbubbles,
There's no need to apologise for a post like that; it was very touching. It's certainly stopped me hankering after a cigarette, and I'm going to have to find some tissues now.

Hi everyone- some very touching and useful posts today. Thanks
I've been searching for the info on nicotine amounts per ciggie. Most actually deliver about 1-2mg into your system (nicotine gum you have to use a slightly higher amout to get the same blood plasma level of nicotine and it takes about 30mins to get into your system). Brands such as silk cut silver deliver about 0.1mg per ciggie. Thought this might be useful if you're not sure about doses of NRT to try!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Hi Lula,
That's excellent advice as usual, and fortunately there's only one person at work that smokes and I think she's on holiday this week, which is very good timing.:rolleyes:
When I got into the office on Monday a.m I was hoping that I wouldn't bump into her and have to go through the trauma of declining.:eek: (I think)
