Hi Jellie,
Hope you are starting to feel better, ive found today really hard too, on to struggle number 2 in a min, we are off to the pub for the quiz, a regular thing, in a regular place where i have my regular smoking pattern!!!!
But, i will keep going.
Jellie - i recommend ice cream or lollies, they should hopefully cool you down and might help fight the craving, failing that just find some things to throw.

Thanks PD.
I've been occupying myself with making a meal from leftovers before heading to the gym. The icecream is a good idea- hopefully I have frozen grapes in freezer which should do the same trick.
Good luck at the pub- don't throw anything there though!

Hello all, things are getting weird now : 2 days without smoking or even a craving worthy of a nicorette
what's going on ?
Hmmm, maybe it's the thought of Richards little black & green toes ( nearly put green & black but that just makes me think of chocolate) I am so glad you were jesting, after that mention of forays into wheat fields I was wondering whether one would turn up in my hovis .Ok feeling queasy now so moving on...
Has anyone else had a similar lack of craving experience ? I'm scared of being lulled into false sense of security then suddenly finding myself out in the garden coffee in one hand & ... you know how it goes.
I'm giving up because I originally quit years ago & although I started again I've hated the smell, taste (except with coffee or some kinds of alcohol) cost, health hazards & ridiculous situations & lies I engineer in order to have one ever since. Frankly, for me it was the naughtiness associated with it that appealed & I just dont get a buzz from telling my 8 year old that I'm 'popping down to the shed' when she looks at me in the most withering way & scathingly says "oh really  ". Makes me feel about 12, & I'm supposed to the grown up in our house

Hi lula hula conrats on giving up are you on champix because i feel exactly the same way, nearly at 48 hours without a ciggie and not really having cravings.

One day, 22 hours, 47 minutes and 38 seconds. 38 cigarettes not smoked, saving £4.87. Life saved: 3 hours, 10 minutes.0 -
Hi guys
Iv been to the doctors and they have advised i should reduce tablets to half mg as the 1mg ones are too strong. Hopefully now i can start eating again and not feel sick and dizzy all the time!
Still no cigs so here's my stats:
Two days, 11 hours, 50 minutes and 21 seconds. 49 cigarettes not smoked, saving £12.96. Life saved: 4 hours, 5 minutes :j
The reason i am stopping is health - i hate worrying about what damage they are doing to me. I will save lots of money too which i am planning to spend on myself!!:j Stopped smoking - 2nd Jan 09:j0 -
Hi naomi,
not on champix, just using nicorette gum when / if cravings hit, that's what so weird ! Usually had 5/6 a day & had last one 9.00pm friday, how do I work out how much life I ve saved ? Oooh, not saving loads of money but guess I should put it away towards paying off debts, must be a tenner a week at least.0 -

Hi Lula,
I'm pleased the prospect of gangrenous extremities has had the same effect on you as it has on me.  It's bad enough wondering about permissible levels of rodent droppings in your wheat products without having to worry about bits dropping off ex smokers.
Over the last few days since my last smoke (7 days tomorrow) there have been times when I've wondered why I ever found it so difficult, and then it comes crashing out of nowhere and it's all I can do not to go running into the nearest shop.
Both my parents smoked and I hated smoking; it made my clothes smell and it was disgusting when they'd both been in a room for any length of time. I was a very vocal teenager and ridiculed their lack of resolve mercilessly. I never touched a cigarette until I was in my late thirties, about 10 years ago, and I just happened to have a smoke on holiday; needless to say, within a month I was smoking 20 a day.
My good old Pops reminded me, that during one of my teenage outbursts I'd said that I'd a good mind to start smoking, just to prove to them how easy it was to stop; "out of the mouths of babes and sucklings".
So here I am, rather ashamed of getting addicted to exactly the same thing that I'd criticised my parents for; life is a laugh a minute.:D
