    Richard.

When I got cravings I used to pretend that I had just smoked a fag and remembered the horrible taste and smell and the craving went.

    Worked for me :rotfl:

    Good luck

    ym

    Hi yellowmonkey,

That's a good idea because I know from past experience if I went and bought a pack now, I'd be disappointed once the initial routine of lighting up and the first nicotine hit had passed.

I'll include that in my armoury.:D:D

Thanks richard - not sure what it is - iv been ok with the tabs so far but today has been rubbish - cant eat cos i feel like this and not eating prob doesnt help!

    Hi Kirsty,

From what I've read, whichever way you choose to quit, it's advisable to eat regularly and sensibly. I must admit there have been times over the last few days when I could have eaten a pack of cigarettes never mind smoked them.:rolleyes:

    Hi Richard,

I think it was easy for me to start with because i started on the 1st when i went on holiday so i wasnt even at home for the first week or so which meant there was no routine at all.

Plus no one in Malta sells Richmonds lol

Its a bit harder now though, im trying not to think about tomorrow until i get there because i dont want to be all negative but work is going to be hard.

Will update tomorrow (probably from work when i should be on my fag break, lol) and WILL BE STRONG

    xx

    Hi Puzzled,

All the best for tomorrow; it is a horrible feeling going back to work after a holiday. I suppose the only "upside" is that if you can get through tomorrow then you can manage to get through any day.:D:D

    Hi feedumall,

I've spent the whole weekend in the garden and doing various jobs that weren't truly essential and it has worked, but the last couple of hours have been really bad. I can't quite understand why I should get such strong cravings today when they weren't nearly as bad yesterday.:confused:

Fortunately, I found our bikes buried under a load of junk in the garage this afternoon, and we've just had a five mile round trip which has taken away the cravings.:D:D My O.H is very keen for me to quit, (she's already spent the first six weeks savings) and we had a very romantic cycle ride, and a brief stop in a pleasant little meadow; I'm feeling much calmer but we've both got some nasty little mosquito bites.:eek:

    Hi all
Glad to hear things are going well for you all

Iv had an awful day, dont want any cigs but im feeling sick all the time. Felt sick before but it usually went after half hr or hr but i cant eat cos im feeling so rough!

    Hoping things improve soon!! xx

I hope your feeling better :( I started my Champix yesterday, and for approx 4-5 hours after taking the tablet I felt sickly, and really didn't want to smoke because of it. I had visions of me quitting on day one!! :rotfl: :rotfl: . And if I remember rightly you would have just upped your dose yesterday, day 8? it might be that...
I have been advised, on this gr8 forum, to make sure you take the tablet on a full stomach.. you could try that? (providing you don't feel sick as soon as you get up of course). I hope its eased by the time you read this.

Just caught up on todays goings on...
Everyone is still doing great :T :T :T :T :T :T . The 'cold turkey' lot are doing fab... Richard - your going to be very fit too!.

I wish you all a nice sleep... and not so many vivid dreams for the champix users :p.

Mind, I never thought my first experience with 'mind altering' drugs would be prescribed legal ones :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ...

Wishing you all a happy and craving free Monday ;)

    xx

Time to had off- thanks for all the support and hopefully when I check in tomorrow night we'll all be battling on!
Kirsty and Honey I hope the tablets stop you smoking without making you feel too awful.
I'm scared I can't manage this cold turkey but I'm scared of the alternatives too!
At least I can't crave when I'm asleep......wonder if they'll mind me sleeping at work!!

I know what you mean Jellie, on my previous attempts I just wanted to be asleep so I didn't think of ciggies!!..

I defo think cold turkey is the better, healthier option... so your doing really well sticking to it...

But it doesn't work for me - no will power!. So am giving the Champix a go..

    Sleep Well x
