Hi all

Hoping things improve soon!! xx:j Stopped smoking - 2nd Jan 09:j0 -
Hi Kirsty,
That sounds rough going, I was speaking to a guy this morning who was talking about Champix, and saying how effective it was in helping him quit, and that was because the thought of having a smoke was just unbearable because the thought made him feel sick.
I wish I could say the same because at the moment I've got a real strong craving and it's driving me up the bl00dy wall.:mad::mad:

The first post in this thread might be useful to print and keep as it has a list of stats like that in it.
Hope tomorrow is busy, productive and you stay on track.Puzzledbubbles wrote: »Afternoon all,
Im actually finding it ok today, think its the fact that i only got up at 12 and that all ive done is walk into town and walk back.
Also tonsills are killing (have i wynged enough about having tonsilitus yet, lol) so really dont want to smoke.
Thats all going to change tomorrow thou, back to work and back to a boss and friends that smoke, have got boiled sweets, dried fruit, cuppa soups, silly putty, a stress ball (already at work) and since ive been off for a week i should have loads to catch up on in the first day or two.
But, got to get through the rest of the day first, well done everyone!!!!!!!
Ohh, before i go, does anyone have the web address for the site that tells you how your body is repairing itself, ie 6 hours after stopping, 1 day after stopping etc.
Thought i might make my self a list for my wallet in case things get a bit slippery.

Richard.
Keep strong. I stopped cold turkey and it is all in the mind. Just try to think of something else or occupy yourself in other ways. I know it has been said before but it does help. When I got cravings I used to pretend that I had just smoked a fag and remembered the horrible taste and smell and the craving went.
Worked for me :rotfl:
Good luck

Well done for staying on track everyone. I've been helped by the fact that after some gardening in the sun I went to sleep for 5 hours!!
I'm liking the idea of breaking routines. I think I need to use the thoughts about wanting cigarettes to springboard me into thinking about something else- just not sure what! I'm trying to think how I can break my routines tomorrow to help. Thanks to everyone here for sharing how you're doing as some of the comments have really helped me to stay focused and determined.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Hey Kirsty.
I sometimes struggle to eat when it's hot so I always have some Complan to hand. You just make it up as a drink and it is equivalent to a light meal. Not that money saving but it might get you through a bad patch. You can get it in supermarkets (often with slimming products) or chemists.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Hi Puzzledbubbles,
That's exactly what I've done, especially during the first three days. We always have a bottle of wine with tea, but not this week. I'm always first up and make a coffee for myself and then drink that with a smoke while I'm making a cup of tea for my O.H, but not this week.
I've broken just about every familiar routine, and I think it's the only way to do it if you're going "cold turkey". O.H has been fab, I've had lots of dried fruit, fresh fruit, nuts, and gallons of cranberry juice.
I've hardly slept a wink all week, I've felt dizzy and light headed, had headaches and not been able to concentrate properly, but I am now starting to feel fairly good physically; I can definitely feel a difference, and towards the end of last week I found that my concentration was improving. It's a hard slog, but one that I'm sure is worth the effort.
Richard
Hi Richard,
I think it was easy for me to start with because i started on the 1st when i went on holiday so i wasnt even at home for the first week or so which meant there was no routine at all.
Plus no one in Malta sells Richmonds lol
Its a bit harder now though, im trying not to think about tomorrow until i get there because i dont want to be all negative but work is going to be hard.
Will update tomorrow (probably from work when i should be on my fag break, lol) and WILL BE STRONG

kirsty it sounds like you feel like i felt on day 8 of champix, i found eating something helped a bit even just one mouthful was enough for me, and then i fell asleep on the sofa in the afternoon, as i just didnt want to move, i felt like i had the hangover from hell but without the headache.
Hope you feel better soon.
I am still in shock that i havent had a cigarette since 10 o clock last night, and it is so strange that i dont even feel like one. Hope tomorrow is as good as today has been.
Richard s hope you get over your craving, i am not getting cravings as such just keep forgetting i dont smoke and think i will go for one then i realise and then just forget about it.0 -

That's a good idea- hopefully the anticipation is worse than reality in this case!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
