My quit meter says 9 hours, 45 minutes and 38 seconds. 8 cigarettes not smoked, saving £1.02. Life saved: 40 minutes.
Although most of that has been while i was asleep.
:rotfl:
I'll have to sort out the Quitmeter later so I can post my stats. I'm trying to keep busy today- quitting is tough!!! Should be slightly easier at work tomorrow as I've never been able to smoke in the day there anyway!
Good to see you guys keeping strong- we can do this!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Afternoon all,
Im actually finding it ok today, think its the fact that i only got up at 12 and that all ive done is walk into town and walk back.
Also tonsills are killing (have i wynged enough about having tonsilitus yet, lol) so really dont want to smoke.
Thats all going to change tomorrow thou, back to work and back to a boss and friends that smoke, have got boiled sweets, dried fruit, cuppa soups, silly putty, a stress ball (already at work) and since ive been off for a week i should have loads to catch up on in the first day or two.
But, got to get through the rest of the day first, well done everyone!!!!!!!
Ohh, before i go, does anyone have the web address for the site that tells you how your body is repairing itself, ie 6 hours after stopping, 1 day after stopping etc.
Thought i might make my self a list for my wallet in case things get a bit slippery.

Hi Puzzledbubbles,
This is quite a good one, and fairly comprehensive too:

Good evening all,
I'm on day 5 now, or is that day 6 having had my last smoke on Tuesday lunchtime?
I was rather hoping things would be easier after the 72 hour watershed.:rolleyes: I'm not using NRT or anything else and rather hoped the worst would be past by now, but I've had some fairly strong cravings today; they're manageable but stronger than I'd expected.:eek:
I have to say that I've never gone this long during previous attempts and this Thread is wonderful for support and good ideas.:beer:

Well done Richard!!
And of course everyone else!!!!
Richard, im going cold turkey too and its hard, ive just been going for the diversionary tactics, although hubby is saying that im a moody cow, i feel fine lol
I think that the biggest battle is breaking my routines, its so hard when i think about smoking to not smoke if that makes any sense.

Hi Puzzledbubbles,
That's exactly what I've done, especially during the first three days. We always have a bottle of wine with tea, but not this week. I'm always first up and make a coffee for myself and then drink that with a smoke while I'm making a cup of tea for my O.H, but not this week.
I've broken just about every familiar routine, and I think it's the only way to do it if you're going "cold turkey". O.H has been fab, I've had lots of dried fruit, fresh fruit, nuts, and gallons of cranberry juice.
I've hardly slept a wink all week, I've felt dizzy and light headed, had headaches and not been able to concentrate properly, but I am now starting to feel fairly good physically; I can definitely feel a difference, and towards the end of last week I found that my concentration was improving. It's a hard slog, but one that I'm sure is worth the effort.
